Gearbox fault, advise please

Hi all, my rrs has just started to not shift up gears, its fine for the first 6-10 miles.
I had it plugged into a diagnostic machine, there was quite a few faults but all bar 1 cleared, uo416, invalid data received from dynamic control module.
the transmission fault light doesn't come on straight away, but when it does the car shifts normally?? but most of the time the light stays off. The gearbox shifts fine when in manual, so I'm assuming its not the gearbox.
Any ideas, tips etc much appreciated.

Hi, bonkers though this may sound; check your brake light bulbs are working and are correctly fitted. It is a known problem that issues with the bulbs can cause the symptoms you are experiencing. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Thumbs Up
Again might sound daft but it is important the bulbs are top quality. Only use genuine Osram brand or get them direct from Land Rover.
If no resolution next thing to try is changing the brake pedal switch. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

I am having the same problem - can you advise if the bulbs resoilved the issue.
I also changed a bulb and noticed the transmission would not work throu the gears,,, also noticed that the brake lights stay on with the headlights and this is when the transmission fails. When the lights are off the transmission and brake lights are fine !!

Sounds like you have an earthing fault on a rear lamp unit. I would look critically at the lamp units and connections at the rear.
Also, do not discount the brake light switch, which has caused many a problem, but is cheap and easy to replace.
