Random question alert.

Evening all,
I've just sold my 2016 A45 due to want something a little bigger.
My car shopping list went like this.
2013 rs4 avant
Mercedes c63
S5 sportback
So performance cars
However i went to a garage to test drive look at a rs4 and there was a 2012 rrs autobiography 30k mileage
Immaculate and so much spec.
After a lot of indecisiveness and pursading from mrs put a deposit down on the rrs.
So my question is has anyone been tempted away from performance cars like the above to the rrs and fell in love with it or simply regretted the descion and itched to get back in something performance related.
Bit long winded post I know but there no arguing the comfort and kit in the rrs is remarkable and impressive.
Any experiences or opinions welcome.
Rrs is at auto prestige £30000.
Think this isn't to badly priced with the spec condition and mileage.

I've had different cars, mainly sports types and bought my first 2005 RRS Supercharged in September 2016.
I can honestly say, I love it and can't see me getting anything else in the future.
Sure, it's a 12 year old car but the drive is the most comfortable I've EVER had, the feeling of luxury and quality is sublime and if I want to I can give most of the sports cars a run for their money!
Nearly 8 months on and I am still looking for excuses to jump in the car and go for a drive.
You won't be disappointed I'm sure.

Not in the same league as the cars you mention, but after 3 Subaru Imprezas, I fancied a change.
I keep my cars for 3 years, usually getting itchy feet at around 2 years, and spent the following year looking for the next one.
I've had my RRS for seven years now. Love it!
They are not cheap to run, budget at least £3k/year for sevice/tyres and bits that go wrong.

I sold my E46 M3 that I had chucked £k at getting how I wanted it to buy a new RS6 but after test driving one and working out how much I was going to loose of the 4 year deal I went and bought a 62 plate RRS Autobiography from a main dealer for the warranty and love it. Ok so it's not fast and feels a little soft compared to what I've had over the last few years but I wouldn't change a thing about it.

I do have a toy in the garage if I want something quick but you soon realise how much things have moved on after driving a 30 year old cossie and then getting back in the Range Rover that has all the equipment and comforts you could ask for.

£30k sounds like a good price for spec and mileage. I couldn't find one for that when I was looking but then I was only looking on Land Rover main dealers as wanted their warranty 2017 SVR. SVO Scafell grey Ebony interior

Thanks for the input all, makes me feel a little more postitive and excited for my new arrival. Seems like some of you have been in same boat so it's reassuring no regrets by people so far.
Just got to pick it up Saturday now.

I'm sick and tired of mine. The f*cking thing is never right. When I find one I like I'm going for a C63, I'm looking for a 2012 onwards but not the bi-turbo. The engine is naturally aspirated and hand made so should last forever. There are far less electronics to go wrong, it doesn't require a specialist to track it or work on it. There are no electrical gremlins, the handbrake isn't a constant worry, the sway bars don't clonk and need new bushes every 4 years. The RRS is a nice car, but you never stop paying for it, and LR made so many stupid mistakes when designing it that it beggers belief! My perfonal favourite is the drive line shunt when you let off and re-apply power (such as when you're coming to a round about etc.).

If you've got £30k to drop, do yourself a favour and buy something reliable..

I went from small toys ie s2000, great power to weight ratio, and awesome fun. To a 4.2sc (didn't have 5.0 at the time), still great fun, kept it 7 years, then got the 2012 3.0 rrs. Unless a remap can dramatically change the power delivery, I will be swapping it. It is very nice, but not a patch on the sc. I find the elastic band effect on the diesel is sometimes suicidal (remap is meant to fix).
I don't drive fast, but I feel the 3.0 is not as effortless as it should be.
I have had no reliability issues. MY12 RRS HSE

What do you mean by the elastic band effect?

I'm maybe too tame a driver to discover more power issue's, as I've only found suicidal is trying to pull out of a junction quickly and then getting the 2 second delay before full power cuts in.

Some different inputs popping up, so I take it a remap would be massively beneficial, where local go warrington cheshire then.
I really wanted the 5.0 but think 10-12mlg would of been tiresome even at 7000mpa.
The reliabilty is something I'll have to live with I've had so called reliable cars in the past that have cost me a fortune.
Mmmmmm wonder is it should of been C63 instead.

Having had a Nissan Primera for 10 years, and celebrating 30yrs working, I just bought a 2011 5L RRS Supercharged.

Only driven it once so far - back from the dealer - and loved it. It's weird, despite the poke under the right foot, I was quite happy in the inside lane at 65mph revelling in the pure joy of driving it. That being said, when I did show it the right peg it move scarily quickly into upper numbers on the speedo. If you catch my drift!

Buy it. Love it.

Hello Dennis.
The 2 second delay is what I mean by the elastic band effect. Put your foot down, large delay then suddenly shoots off.even when pulling out slowly, as the car does not move, you automatically put foot on the accelerator a bit more, then again you feel a prat as you zoom out. It does seem to happen randomly. MY12 RRS HSE

While not wanting to hijack Rmstu's thread, this could well be relevant to him with if it's the MY12 3.0 SDV6 he's after.

I've just had mine LR dealer serviced and mentioned this delay to them so they updated the gearbox TCM-Transmission 8spd files (even though my iiDTool said it was already up to date, I have before and after ECU scans - trust, but check...) but it doesn't appear to have made any difference.
