17MY Sat Nav

Am I being thick or are there no sat nav voice commands for 17MY Sport? Surely it is not type everything in even whilst driving?

I have a voice in my car too, it emanates from the passenger seat, and seems to be an additional sped limiter.

I found voice activation of the satnav (albeit MY16, not sure how it has changed) to be a compete exercise in futility. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

Sadly the new MY17 does not have voice control for Navigation. I'm very disappointed!

I've had my my17 a/b for a week now, & the more I use it the more I wish I'd kept my my17. No voice control for nav. & no way to input your own speed data base are both retrograde steps. The it took me 3 different operators & 3 sim cards to get the wifi working. Not very impressive is it? current 2015 hse dynamic, grey.

I've also heard that North Up is not available on the saynav map when in navigate mode. Can anyone confirm that because that would really irritate me

I have my MY 17 set to navigate in North Up mode. It will also use Google Satellite maps. You can have split screens to show traffic info or the one I use is a small inset map to show either the whole journey or the remaining journey. I think it works well, not as good as BMW but still good.

Thanks thats reassuring. The infotainment system in my MY14 RRS is like something Amstrad invented in the '80s but its good to know that it has been improved because I'm about to order a new RRS

Have you any idea how much data, if any, the Google maps display uses? Mine appears to work whether or not I've got mobile data enabled, but I don't know if it's just remembering a previously downloaded map.

the my17 doesn't leave a "breadcrumb" trail either, or if t does I can't find how to activate it. No voice control on nav. is certainly a backward step, as is cameras switching off at 10 mph. I used to use this feature to check on my trailer hitch for the first few miles. current 2015 hse dynamic, grey.

No street view doesn't work, nor does the traffic info except rarely Also if you are on the phone you don't get any sat nav instructions
Also when I terminate a phone call the radio comes on even if not on previously
Not impressed

Nor does syncing a route. It perssitently states that there is no such route with that waypoint, even though I have put no waypoint in.
