All these clean cars result in spending money

This section has finally got to me. I thought my car looked OK, Jet wash at the local garage, quick blast down the road to dry it off followed by a wipe down with Autoglym Rapid detailer & Autoglym fast glass. Looked good to me, however looking close, maybe I could have two swirl marks on the bonnet, but only noticed when parked in the Sun.

I know there is not much wrong, as the car is parked under cover, not used much, circa 44k miles to date. So begs the question, do I buy a orbital polisher and sort it out or make it worse Whistle NO, let the experts do it Thumbs Up

So car is not only clean, it's spotless Very Happy meeting with the painter chap bad news, talk about eyes like a sniper, basically after a quick glance at my car, I have more swirl marks than I have ever noticed, scratches, chips, paint damage due to bird Censored , plus wheel kerb damage.
Car is being sorted next week, I'm going to specsavers Whistle In Spain - Santorini Black 2011 HSE
In UK - Not saying, but its NOT a Muddy Milk Float.
Gone - Several Lode Lane vehicles

It's a slippery slope,
you will be buying: 3 buckets, a pre wash, a snow foam, plain shampoo, tar removers, fall out removers, clay bars, polishes, sealants, waxes. Then there's the mitts, mixed brushes, the towels, the microfibres cloths for this and that. Lol

And I keep a small selection of this in my car. The rest along with my pw takes up 2 garden storage containers.lol
Just so you didn't think I was joking. ( a selection of everything apart from the buckets.lol)

I already have 2 clay cloths, Poor Boys wheel stuff & and thanks to advice I took from BC regards my last Sport, a new unopened bottle of Super resin Polish plus a unopened pot of AutoGlym wax. http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic38718.html

Sorry guys, I am not going down the detailing route, Spain is a dusty country, so it would be a waste of time. However I might slap some polish on it when the paint has been touched up. In Spain - Santorini Black 2011 HSE

Turtlewax Ice spray wax is good quick dealer. Provides instant shine and makes easier to remove the dust and dirt.

Anyone else getting depressed how dirty their cars are? Combination of the weather and work means my black RRS is grey/brown. Hopefully today's storm might help a bit!

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with Dan and I have to laugh at myself because like a lot of us I started out with the tried and true Porter cable dual action polisher and then it was another pad and another and another and another and then there are the products and don't forget the pressure washer and then there are the steps you have to take and the buckets and the grit guards that retarded retailers want to charge you 20-40 dollars a piece for..... And, oops you can't do it on a hot sunny day because heaven FORBID the dam thing air dries and leaves water marks... The madness never stops ARGH!!!!!!

Are the DI vessels any good as I live in a hard water area & washing + drying 2 4x4's in hard work some days.

I got a 15.4ltr one from Daqua, I've had it 18 months, it was 15 months before I had to change the minerals which is Tulson mb115.
It does what it says, after a final rinse off there's no rush to dry off, and sometimes I even just leave it to dry the first use I had a little bit of spotting but now it's fine, I test it every time before I use it and Im still getting 000ppm. Before the filter it's 358 ppm.

http://www.daqua.co.uk/divessels.htm

Plus it's also ideal for keeping a few bottles of filtered water handy for use in washer bottle and if you need to make up dilutions of cleaning chemicals.
