Where's the Mute button?

Driving along, listening to the news on radio 4 and I realised that, unlike my previous car, there's no mute button to quickly cut off traffic info or sat nav directions.

Is that right or am I missing something?

Not one.

Press the volume in to turn off radio.

There is a Nav mute on the touch screen but that's no use in a hurry Laughing

If you press the 'C' button at the bottom right of the headunit it shuts off the Traffic Info that is coming over the FM from a station other than the one you are listening to but only until the next broadcast.

Found that out by accident one day but it is quite handy since turning off the Traffic Info completely of course means you will miss the announcement that the M25 is closed at Junction 27 again.

Going a bit off topic now but WHY is it always Junction 27? 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

'C' button? I don't seem to have one of those either.

Not sure if it's the same thing but pressing the Audio button cuts off the current traffic announcement and reverts back to whatever Audio you are listening to.

I'll try that on the morning commute. Cheers!

On mine the info button (bottom left of head unit) turns traffic announcements off if you push it once whilst that info is being broadcast but it will still allow the subsequent traffic broadcast to come through. Push it twice if you want to turn traffic announcements off whilst they are being broadcast (or once if no traffic info is being broadcast).

For navigation you can mute the voice whilst still retaining visual support. It's in the nav settings. It will then show a loudspeaker with a line through it bottom right of the nav screen. If you touch that symbol at any time it will tell you the next route instruction whilst still remaining mute for all others.

Hope this helps although they probably changed everything between 2008 and yours! Confused Robin

Yep, that works for the traffic announcements (although it does switch the screen to the audio/video mode, obviously.

Any way to cut off the sat nav direction announcements other than permanently?

You were right, everything has changed since 2008 and mine! I don't get the "loudspeaker with a line through it bottom right of the nav screen" but I do get a "repeat last announcement button"
