Bosch batteries with four year warranty from costco

Not really a bargain, but I picked up a Bosch battery the other day for my RRS at 95. The same prices are seen on eBay and Costco offer a four year warranty. In not so many words the salesperson said don't worry if you lose your receipt, and if there's anything wrong within four years we can refund or replace.

So a decent deal on a good battery, and they occasionally have offers with vouchers.

I may sound thick, but what's AGM? A Gold Mullet? Arthur's Gym Muscles?

AGM or Absorbed Glass Mat batteries offer a lot of useful qualities that make them the one to pick. AGM batteries are high quality and work at optimal capacity at a large range of temperatures. They work great for all high amp needs and have a very slow self-discharge rate (meaning you can leave one plugged in and you won't waste a lot of energy).

The thick AGM separator absorbs and holds acid to prevent spilling. And the precision assembly creates a uniform book of plates that are tightly compressed in each cell and held under pressure in the rigid battery case. The result? A battery that resists vibration, recharges faster, cycles more and last longer in demanding applications such as the RRS.

Hope this helps.

Wow now that's what I call an explanation!! Would a 2005 RRS benefit in any way from this or in the real world will I find similar results to my Bosch>?

I agree with Jock, but another added advantage of an AGM battery is that they are perfect for people who only do short journeys Thumbs Up In Spain - Santorini Black 2011 HSE

Short journeys is sometimes all I do. Where can I find an AGM type battery? I haven't fitted the Bosh yet and can easily return it.

Has anyone got a recommendation for an AGM battery?

Is this a good choice?
