I didn't take the PTI option when I got my RRS Sad as I don't work and thought I wouldn't need it much Smile

Richard - am I right in thinking you want to retro fit a Bluetooth system, if so probably easier to fit a third party set up like a Parrot. If it's compatible phones for an existing system then you would be looking at Nokia phones. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Thanks for all the info guys....I am not sure what I want really Confused
I was sort of hoping I could just get a Bluetooth phone and the RRS would see it without the PTI but would have a reduced functions like no address book etc.
But from some of your comments it looks like I have got it all wrong Sad

Richard - basically do you have the green & red telephone symboled knobs on your steering wheel? IF yes your car is BT enabled and a Nokia would be your best bet. The list of BT supported phones is on the LR website, not many listed but basically the LR system is a Nokia system and modern Nokias should work. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Ask Envoy - he has a MY06 with the red and green buttons on his steering wheel. However the phone does not see a BT connection. Has tried different phones including mine (which works on my RRS) but still no luck.

His phone does work with the cradle though MY10 TDV6 HSE, Alaska White, Ebony with Contrast, Park Heat, Paddle Shift, Privacy, Heated Steering Wheel, Extended & Premium Leather,

VA, no Red & Green telephone buttons on steering wheel, I guess you only get these if you have the PTI option Sad

So does that mean none of the Bluetooth phones will work with the car until I retro fit something like Parrot?

What advantage is something like that compared to just using a Bluetooth phone and earpiece? Arrived - RRSport 2016 HSE SDV6 HSE

Richchad - you will need a third party option. The advantage of this over an earpiece is that you can have it installed so that when a call comes in/goes out the sound comes over the stereo system. The system will mute the stereo. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Its worth doing properly. In my last car I used to use the Tom Tom with the bluetooth facility. I could hear the caller but they had difficulty hearing me even with the remote microphone installed.

I needed good coms for business whilst driving as I move round quite a bit. Have used ear piece and still do in our other cars but its not as convenient as in car BT. Ear pice has to be charged regulary (if wireless) or using a wired earpiece I found I often wrapped it round the steering wheel !

Can't beat the professionaly installed option.. MY10 TDV6 HSE, Alaska White, Ebony with Contrast, Park Heat, Paddle Shift, Privacy, Heated Steering Wheel, Extended & Premium Leather,
