JE in this case, their systems would talk to it but not allow tunes based on the earlier EC2 s/w to overwrite the 07MY EC4 code so this issue should be common to any tuner trying to tune an 07 - my next discussion on Tuesday with JE to see what the fix is..... Cheers

This was 'announced' some time ago that 07 models had different software to stop the chippers. Matt

This is not unusual. I've had several Saabs and through the years, within the same model range for the same engine, you generally had to wait a few months for the ECU tuning companies to get their hands on the new software or an ECU can get their mapping sorted. I had one ECU upgrade failure (which I have mentioned in another thread) on a Saab 9,5. The first ECU they sent me - on a swap basis did not work. The first reaction was that they had sent me "last year's" program (this despite having my VIN number and MY information).

This later cascaded into more complications, but the lesson I drew from it was to wait at least one year for the tuning programs to be updated and tested on other users before risking my own car.

On the RRS, I plan to wait until I have 10,000km on the clock which I expect to be just under a year from now before considering whether the tuning programs are ready or not. 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE, Java/Ebony/Cherry, Privacy, Sunroof, PTI, Premium Sound, SatNav, Cold Climate, Tow kit, CarStyle coded grill and vents, Tasmods, Stormers, JE Exhaust, Autobiography badge

I would imagine it may have some of the same issues.....

Never mind, its an arms race after all and to each attempt to stop the chippers Evil or Very Mad there will be (eventually) a workaround Very Happy Cheers

Very interesting, was considering going down that route if, after driving Envoys next week, I was impressed with the difference.

Apparently TDv8 tuners have already been very successful at remapping that ECU and producing S/C embarrasing performance with decent fuel consumption 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Autologic and Turbochip encountered this problem back in November.

Both tools can now reprogram all TDV6 and TDV8 vehicles, including 2007.
