MY17 Deals and Discounts

Re-posted here as I mistakenly posted in general, not sure how to delete it?

As per thread title I thought it would be helpful for prospective buyers to see what may be out there in terms of deals/discounts.
I had to cancel my original SVR order but now its back on the cards, my original vehicle is unfortunately now sold having landed at the dealership Friday, gutted...
In terms of a potential new deal I've been offered £2k off list, was hoping for better really or is the SVR discount as rare as the dealer makes out?....

I think somebody recently achieved 5.8% on a different model but I can't recall which one...

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

I believe he got a discount because he initially ordered the car via a brokerage but the delivery date fell back and back so he asked a franchised LR deal to match the offer and they did with sooner delivery. Bear in mind that discounts on SVR are unlikely or will be very, very small as SVR's are built to order and very much in demand. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

is it worth going on the carwow website and see whats the best deal you get offered (you get offers from actual LR delaerships) then take that to your local dealer who should be able to match if not beat the quote. i have also heard about waiting till the end of the month when the sales people are trying to reach their monthly sales targets

And December is also end of quarter and end of year so even more important for salesmen to meet their new car sales targets! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Yes I did Carwow and my local agreed to match it, which is actually £1,650, not the £2k I originally quoted. I just thought there may be more out there but understand the SVR's are only built to order so a little trickier. Even the LR £3k finance contribution you get on every single other RRS Was quickly withdrawn, you get nothing now!

Jimbo, when I ordered mine there was no deal whatsoever to be had......not even a test drive in a demo, at the time there was only 2 demos in the system and both were in London. Shocked October 2015 and I took delivery of the car End April 2016.
The dealership were willing to reduce prices of dealer fitted options, so I went down that route, so maybe you could try that if your having any of them. Thumbs Up

I've been fairly lucky on the test drive front, even had an unaccompanied afternoon with one. I've been offered 10% on dealer fit options, deployable sidesteps being one of them, but was hoping for more tbh.

@GJW1.. "I wasn't able to get any discount on the sale price but did get my px value increased to a level the different made a deal work for me.

Dealers say they can't discount the new cars I don't know the truth behind it I expect it's a commission issue so on the Px the sales guy isn't effected and has more room to help you out."

Thought it best to keep the thread in one place...
Unfortunately no PX for me but glad they made the figures work for you... Thumbs Up

You should get 5%, but dealers are loathed to give anything off the RRS, especially with the new MY. Gone:

Well I tried them some months ago and the quoted discount (although smaller) never came to fruition, maybe it's worth another shot... Carwow only came up as £1,605 discount so I don't know how Orange wheels can be so different? When you say get more (8%) you mean by calling around, I have honestly rang several and just got a little fed up!?

Are these deals you mention on new cars without "extras"? No doubt when you try and spec it to your requirements the prices they are offering off the list would change.
