20" L494 HSE alloys on RRS1

Hi guys.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to a few images of a Range Rover Sport 1 running on 20" L494 HSE alloys please?
Have trawled the web to no avail but there must be someone out there with a few snaps to share.
Very tempted to buy a set but just need to see how they look on this car.
Picture attached of the alloy design in question.

Many thanks in advance Smile

Morning Tyrefitter.

Thanks for your reply regarding the 21's. I'm going to stick to 20's as I realised recently that I can get the same tyre section as a 19" wheel - 255/55r20 as I want a comfy ride and more practicality than I currently have on my 275/40/r20.

Thanks again so much....

The tyres on the 21's are 275/45r21 & I've now got them fitted to my Amarok truck.

Australia 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Bonatti Grey

I had 22" wheels fitted to my 2006 RRS when I brought it a couple of years ago. Alas the usual problem they cracked, most likely going over the speed humps we have on lots of our suburban streets.
Before this happened I was already on the prowl for a second set of rims with more sidewall than the orginal motorway tyres. They would be useless on our rough country roads ortravelling in the outback.
Anyway after lots of loking at 19" etc I came across a almost new (1000Kms) of a 2015 RRS where the owner traded them in on some 22"s (Poor Guy). I got them for a steal wheels and tyres.
It looks to me from your photo they are the same- Std fitment on 2015 RRS.
There is a slight problem with them in that they are a bigger diameter tyre because of the greater sidewall and this will
cause your car speedo to under read. Here in Aust. when the car speedo says 100 your actually doing 105kph.
Great for fuel economy, great ride but no good for speeding tickets.
I was on this Forum to see whether the speedo could be recalabrated but to no avail.
As the 2006 RRS Gps out here does not have the features or upgrades available I decided to use an aftermarket Navman Gps which shows the speed plus many other things missing from the RRS one.
Problem solved.
I have now been running these wheels and tyres for over 12

months without any problems and hopefully the photos will download for you.

Hi Cracka.

Many thanks for your reply and attached photos, they do look very good on the RRS1. When I bough my car I was originally planning to run some 19" wheels but being fussy, I didn't really like any of the designs available.
The style you have fitted to yours resemble the Supercharger alloys that I have on mine so thought they would be a good bet.

Regarding your speedo. I recently popped into my local main dealer for a few parts and whilst there, I noticed a Discovery in the showroom standing on 20" rims with 255/55r20 tyres.

I asked the parts guy if Land Rover had redesigned the gear ratios in the diffs and box to accommodate the slightly oversize tyre diameter.
He went off and came back with a technician who explained that all they do is plug the car in a computer, access the tyre size section and just input the tyre details like that!
There is no old fashioned speedo drive cable, its all done from an ecu which links into the ABS and traction systems etc as everything is controlled by software in the car, likewise, so is the speedo.
I think he said it costs £100 roughly to reprogram and then you are good to go with everything reading as it should.

Hope that helps.

Best.

G
