Rear entertainment retrofit

I've never had a vehicle with in car tv/video before so didn't consider it important when looking for my RRS, but now having managed to occupy the bairns without them fighting by simply putting on the tv has been fantastic, so I'm now thinking of trying to retro fit some rear screens etc. At the moment on long drives we'd have the tablets along with trail of charge cables etc., but there's definately an appeal for a 'factory look' setup, with hidden cables.

At the moment I have the front non-dual screen tv which plays DVD from disc, but it goes off above a given speed. Fine in a carpark but the Censored thing tries to go off every 10 minute - what a waste of time!

I've been looking at the Rosen AV8900 series screens with options of built in DVD, iPod etc., but I'm wondering how I could get power up the back of the seats, has anyone done this? Not easy I'd guess, does it involve fishing for wires down the seat back, or an easier way?
My preference would be to get the screen only version and tie it into a central media player or something, but does the standard RRS DVD player have a video out that I could tap into? I can plug in a USB stick full of movies for them, but live TV would be good if it could be done.

Or would getting the genuine rear screen setup be cost effective, and tie-into the existing setup?

So nobody has installed retro fit headrests?

Does anyone know what type headrest screens Exclusive Cars (GB) use? They look a neat install - http://www.exclusivecarsgb.co.uk/used-cars...2010603568

Here's a link for oem retrofit

https://goo.gl/JfVM2T

Ive retrofitted some cheap ebay ones, was relatively simple. I got power from rear cigarette lighter, just a bit of a pain to get to the back of it, fridge out job. Looks quiet good to be fair. Ill post pics tomorrow if you want.

The TV/DVD goes off above 5mph as a safety device to prevent the driver becoming distracted which can and has caused accidents. It is illegal for the driver to be able to see the screen when in use for TV etc whilst the car is in motion.
There have been write ups for fitting of rear screens.

Not recommended, as illegal to use, and possibly dangerous as said above, but you do see things for sale on eBay to circumvent the lock out above 5-10mph. Censored John

Thanks HemoRRS, that would be great.

What's more bothering me is how to get the cables down the seats, to keep it neat without destroying the seats?

That Disco 3 install looked a lot of work. I think unless my MY13 has an easier way to go genuine then the eBay ones with built in media players etc. are looking more appealing.

Thanks again

Yes it's fine going off in the front when driving, but parked - it's just a pain in the Censored 13MY Range Rover Sport Autobiography SDV6 - mine

Getting the cable down the seat was fine, just unclip the bottom, then feed the wires down and you can fit your arm up to grab them. Hardest part was getting the clips back together.

This shows the bottom of the seat unclipped, thats all i had to do to get the wire through the seat.

Then i routed the wire under the seat then under the fridge to join them, power from the back of the rear cigarette lighter.

Is it possible to power them elsewhere so they are not dependant on the rear cig lighter?

They look awesome and such a clean install! You have got me wanting a pair, just want to keep it as OEM as possible..

I suppose, but I don't know why you'd want to. They're wired to the rear of the lighter so you can't see any wires or nothing plugged in etc.

Oh, my apologies - I misread that Embarassed as they are plugged into your rear cigarette lighter
