Heated Steering wheel

Need some help boys,

I have a '12 RRS SC heated steering wheel that I can't get to work. When I depress the button the bottom stays green, which indicates no heat is being produced.

The vehicle is out of warranty, so I'd like to fix this my self if possible. Anyone know how to troubleshoot the heating element and other associated parts?

I know it's a tall order. Thanks in advance! '12 RRS SC

Firstly I would check fuse No.20 in the foot well fuse box assuming it is the same as a UK spec car.? but as light works it may be ok. Also do a continuity test on the Heating Element and go from there.

Cheers

A low resistance of a few ohms.

Ok. The fuse is good.

If I get low ohms from the element, then is it safe to assume it's the box that generates the signal?

Any other ideas? '12 RRS SC

Solved

The main wheel was fine. I had to replace the heater control unit inside that attaches to the back inside of the wheel. Good thing I had the old wheel still.

Thanks for the help! '12 RRS SC
