^^^ Just the usual over-reaction.

The 'milk float' has a guarantee on the battery pack of 8 years! Already there are organisations that will replace a 'cell'. The PHEV has 80 of the little beggars and it continually monitors the performance of each cell.

I suspect that with very reliable electric motors and very simple transmission the reliability will be pretty good.

According to his Fuelly signature thing his Lexus is hugely inefficient as it gets ZERO mpg and I don't believe it is an EV it's a Hybrid so has to burn some petrol sometime! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Rolling with laughter And a bit thirsty too, I had a 450SEAC in the 1980's, the wedge with wings and no traction control, no ABS and mega powerful V8 in a body the weighed about as much as Kleenex tissue! I never managed to put mine tail first through a hedge but I know a few that were written off that way............ Servicing was an issue - the nearest outlets to me were either the dealer in barrow-In-Furnace or the factory in Blackpool - one trip to have a service and by the time you got home you were nearly 1/3rd of the way to the next service! Lovely car though but I had to sell it when I went back to Nautical College, it was a useless car for winter commuting 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

The reality is a lot different than the dream but I'm still crazy enough to want one Mr. Green

Original chassis and bulkhead but engine replaced and lots of new panels and doors but at least they looked correct for age of vehicle Confused

Was planning to buy it today and drive it home (60 miles) but may have to mull it over a bit more Sad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Take a good magnet, check the chassis, they do rust. As for changing the bulkhead, well you need a sun dial to monitor the time it takes, every one is different, holes are drilled by hand in the Factory.

Why not go for a 90? In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures

I've had a crush on the Series 2 since I was a kid and it's on my bucket list to eventually own one Mr. Green

I like the Defender but it's the Series 2/2a I crave - although having driven one at last I might be better with a defner Rolling with laughter

I'm not buying the one I saw yesterday - it's a good example but too much of the original vehicle has been lost for me Sad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Zermatt Silver

I'm with you Muddy. Better to have an original with all the rattles shake and bangs that that would entail rather than one that's been all modernised and lost its character.

You want it to be a bit of a pig.

I used to use my Dad's old 110 just after i passed my test - a Series 2a I seem to recall - about 1955 vintage and around 2 litre diesel, would that be right?. Great fun but forever needing maintenance just to keep it on the road. (Much like today's LR products I suppose Smile ) Robin

Defender values are skyrocketing at the moment, silly values, especially on the pre TD5 models with no electronics to cause problems. The agreed value of my 1996 90 TDi300 doubled this year to over £20,000................... it is 21 years old with 87,000 miles, has a galvy chassis and was converted from a Hard Top County to a Station wagon County. It has been used heavily offroad (as they should be!) and there is hardly any clear coat gloss left on the Epsom Green paintwork. Local specialist offered me £15000 as it is when I took it in for annual service and MOT in May. Chassis and transfer box apart it is mechanically as it left the factory 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
