United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Am just in Saga territory but mine is 360, on street parking in SE London with Churchill on 10k pa (Clean licence, full NCB etc). It was 330 last year but I couldn't be bothered to argue the increase.

Was with LVE who had been competitive for a number of years then following a minor shunt they upped renewal by about 50%. Tried NFU (need off road cover and most do not now provide this) and was especially impressed by their service and quote of approx 600 for 20k miles p.a. fully comp and two drivers. NFU do not appear on price comparison web sites.

Thanks everyone.... this is a real minefield of a subject.

It must be this specific vehicle in this specific area...

Thanks Big Ben

I just called NFU and spoke to a very pleasant guy called Max.... ran through the quote, 20k miles, protected NCD, 350 voluntary excess, 50 windscreen excess, courtesy car and legal cover included as standard.

569.70 taken and covered.

The clincher was the 'no admin fees' for amending the policy, adding drivers or changing private plates etc... so that will save another 35-70 on the other quotes too.

Still awaiting call backs from LR Direct and A-Plan when they reopen tomorrow, so if they are massively cheaper and I switch I will update here (NFU also confirmed no cancellation fee throughout the full year and 14 days cool off period)

Right... now to tax it and get on the road... Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

I insured my new Subaru Impreza Turbo with NFU back in 1999 - 800 on street parking East London - where the other "best" quotes were in the order of 1500. Absolute bargain at the time and probably because they considered an AWD Subaru as a farmer's vehicle! What was even better was that they covered you F/C on track days included in the price Very Happy

Also, the "local" office I used (Northampton) were by far the nicest bunch of people to deal with - so much better than any other insurance company. I might look to them at renewal as well, especially when moved to rural Wales.

Try adding your other half on. I have Admiral 2 car policy for the rrs and Picasso, 404 fully comp with breakdown relay. I am 44, no accidents, village location.

Worth a try with the mr's as second driver.

OK, so today I called LR direct to follow up the quote... the cheapest they can offer is 1229.77 Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter
Then i got a call back from A-Plan, who offered me cover at 603.00... not bad but it looks like I have the best I can get with NFU.

I still can't believe it is so high... especially with many of you folk paying less even in the big city and at younger ages.... bizarre.

Still... at least I am on the road at last. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

England 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Lux Santorini Black

Today I tried to inform my insurers that my RRS has tints from the B pillar back.

They declined to accept on the grounds that there was no provision to enter such modification.

Considering that most RRS's come with tints from the factory that is mindless and maddening!

I can't figure a way around this conundrum!

Any ideas out there? RRS (MY12) Santorini Black SDV6 HSE luxuary

NFU are indeed very good to deal with. Just that they increased my renewal premium while all other insurers' quotes went down for me this year. NFU were more expensive last year too but I went with them as the difference of 150-200 was worth paying for their superior cover and customer service. I am not paying 50% more to stay with them though Rolling Eyes Current: VW Golf banger until my delayed XC90 arrives

I think it's crazy your insurer could not process a privacy glass modification on their system. At least make sure they put a text note on your file so there's no funny business in the event of a claim.

Some insurers treat factory options as modifications, some do not. Direct line does. So imagine me going through my list of options with someone who has little interest in cars. Radar cruise, surround cameras, etc.. Oh dear, it was painful.

When I had my daytime running lights fitted I called Direct line and they wanted to put my insurance up by 50! I was like, how can you make me pay more insurance when in effect my car is now a lower risk? So she took the modification off and simply recorded in the text of my file. RRS TDV6 HSE Lux (2011MY)... Scotland 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Firenze Red

I just checked and my current insurer says mods are additional to how it left the factory, but for a different insurer, how would I know what was standard or factory options? I've got the Topix list, but it doesn't differentiate additions or standard items.
