If camels are anything to go by the competitor cars will hold their value better, but it will take time.

Hello VA,

Are all of the G4 RRS right hand drive? I'm wondering if any of these might make it to the U.S.

Also do you know if they are diesel or gas/petrol?

Thanks in advance. PJPR

PJ all G4 RRS's are the non S/C V8 in HSE trim and as far a I know they are all right hand drive. They were recently all auctioned off at a closed, franchised dealer only auction. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thanks guys...very speedy as always.

I wonder if one can legally drive a RHD vehicle here in the States, not sure about the laws on this, I would think so, as I have seen some old LR's driving around from time to time, but I would have to guess that many of these might not even make it here from the private auction...too bad.

Would have been nice...to at least see one on the streets.

Cheers. PJPR

Quite easy to do and there are companies in this country that specialise in preparing all types of Land Rovers for the USA market................. at a price! They will also arrange shipment to either the east or west coast by Ro-Ro car carrying ships.

PJ - there is a flourishing market in shipping rebuilt and converted Defenders and older Land Rovers across the pond. There are a lot of recent ex military Defenders making their way across to the USA. Many America forces members in who serve over here buy them, already in Left Hand Drive from dealers in Germany & the UK who specialise in ex Defence Dept vehicles. Most of the vehicles are Defenders but there are also Disocveries and Range Rovers occasionally available.
The UK dealers tend to convert from RHD to LHD and also remove the TDi engine and put in a North American spec V8. One of the biggest dealers in these cars is in Huddersfield in Yorkshire, www.landrovercentre.com 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Interesting information guys...thank you again.

Thinking about the figures though...$45k GBP...now slightly less than $90K USD, I assume that price includes VAT as well, would that be correct, so for an export sale, they would remove the VAT...15%?

So, maybe $75K...then shipping, retrofitting the drive and various other administrative processes, perhaps another $10K-$15K USD...back up to $90K USD...

I wonder if the vehicle is still considered under warranty for all intents and purposes, should be.

Comparing that to painting an RRS Tangiers Orange ( is that the colour) and equipping it with all the goodies...

It's a toss up...an interesting one to be sure.

So VA...are you going to do it? PJPR
