Self healing paint protection film

I heard about this today. Basically it's a self healing clear wrap that is placed on the car after detailing. In the event of scratches , chips etc, all one apparently does is to use hot water on the film, and the marks disappear.
So, it seems that the car should remain in detailed condition always...

Link below to a Porsche having had this done. The company is based in Knaresborough, Yorks, but there are several other high end car companies who are linked into this...such as GT Cars in Deeside, near Chester. Apparently Porsche Uk use this for all their demo cars....apparently.
Anyway, I have no affiliation with any of these companies, but it sparked my interest! Cost is not cheap...about £1500 for the wrap for about half a car...I.e. To cover prone areas such as bonnet, front valence , side wings etc. Plus cost of detailing .
