Anyone on here run a RRS and an Evoque!?

Whilst my car was in for the brake squeal I was given an MY16.5 Evoque Dynamic and it was a pretty impressive machine. With my wife's contract hire C class due to be returned in October she loved the Evoque and wants me to buy her one! I have inquired and can get in to an MY17 car (with new wider infotainment screen etc) but just wondering if having both of these (RRS and Evoque) on my drive is a bit excessive Smile

Lol the Ferrari is tucked away in her stable (garage) but the other two cars live outside for now. My RRS is white but thinking stealth black Evoque with the black pack for a contrast Smile

I was very impressed with the drive and handling and the new inginium engine felt pretty refined and quick!

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

I've owned two Evoques before the L494 RRS................ Both were the 2.2 TD's both Dynamic Lux Plus's with most of the options ticked. First was one of the first in private ownership and a Fuji Coupe 6 Speed Auto. It was brilliant. At 2 years old I changed it for a Zanzibar Bronze 5 door Synamic Plus Lux with almost all options ticked - it was a disaster on wheels. Started out with being nearly 9 months late delivery because the In Control that was an option when I ordered wasn't actually developed or available for sale. Then at 9 months into ownership there was a software upgrade to the ZF 9 speed auto and that resulted in a spate of burned out DPF sensors. The car was obviously rushed down the production line in Halewood as the InControl didn't actually work at all when the car was delivered and the wiring along the windscreen header rattled like mad. As the cure for that was removal of the front screen, panoramic roof and headliner I sold the car on way sooner than I would normally. One of the cars was a 2011MY and the other a 2014MY. I would never have another and the new Ingenium engined cars are being panned for course and gutless engines, Disco Sport doesn't seem to suffer from that but it was designed from day 1 to have the Ingenium engine. There are a lot of angry and disappointed 2016MY Evoque owners out there.................. QC at Halewood seems to be very hit and miss and to be perfectly honest, in the the best LR tradition management don't seem to give a sh!t about the finish or value for money of their biggest selling car. I know people who I have never had a single problem with them but there seems to be an awful lot more people who have huge lists of problems that dealers either don't want to fix or are unable to.
Personally I would have to be paid to have another one and am really pleased to be back in RRS after a 7 year gap with a TDV8 FFRR L322 and two Evoques between the last 2007 TDV8 RRS and my current 2015 SDv6 HSE Dynamic. BTW I am also the moderator on the BabyRR Evoque forum! Totally unbiased of course. The 2nd Evoque and the awful attitude of the technical team at Land Rover who basically accused me of destroying the DPF sensors and tried in assure me that there was nothing wrong with my car (even after 4 rides to a dealership with an non running engine, on the back of a truck!) was nearly enough to make me leave the marque and has seriously dented what up til then was 20 years and 11 LR products of great uneventful ownership. It really peeves me when high and mighty engineers try to tell me that there is nothing wrong with my obviously sick car and as we all are aware Land Rover seems to have a terrible attitude to loyal customers who have serious issues with very expensive cars. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

We have had both, the Evoque was a 2014 SD4 Dynamic Lux auto. Its like the cars are made by a different company, the RRS is a fantastic car apart from when the security system shut it down, however the Evoque was a total piece of dog poo.
Towed away three times with gearbox faults, after all the upgrades the 9 speed was still the worst gear change I have experienced in an auto. Battery always going flat and freaking the electrics out. Everything inside the car rattled or fell off, the 850w audio system was useless, drowned out by the road noise and rattles. It is the worst car I have ever owned, even worse than a Rover 600 company car I had in the late '90's - it was that bad. Will never buy another Halewood car, they just don't understand the words Quality Control and don't care either.
I do have one good memory of Evoque ownership - ITS GONE! 2018 MY19 HSE Dynamic, Santorini, Ebony/Ivory, Sliding pano, Adaptive cruise, Black wheels. Arrived 3rd September 2018
2015 MY16 HSE Dynamic, Santorini, ebony/cirrus, sliding pano, cameras, black wheels - Arrived 1 October 2015

I really liked the Evoque when I saw it - then I drove it and hated it with the bag of spanners that was the 2.2 engine and the boot was as much good as Swmbos mini Embarassed

I'm pleased the DS came along or I would be driving a German jelly mould now I think as I decided the RRS2 wasn't worth the extra money compared to my previous MY13 Black Edition especially after the depreciation hit Confused

Having said that I've seen an approved used MY15 RRS hybrid that's tempting me to upgrade again but that will kill my XK weekend car plan Big Cry Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

I have RRSMan......

Mrs T has had hers for 2 years now so may change for an F-Pace. I lease mine for 6 months at a time, therefore it does look unusual when we both have the same colour!

FFRR last time!

James Thumbs Up

Here are a few reminders of Evoque ownership, first tow away from our house, second from the village, which is 12 miles from our home and LRA left us stranded. At the moment I can't access the third tow away photo but you get the idea. Last photo is the courtesy car supplied after being without any transport for 5 days, yes its a '57 plate VW polo! You can see why Evoque ownership has left a bitter taste. For all this trouble LRCS gave us £750 off the RRS, weren't we lucky.

I have the RRS, wife has a MY 13.5 Evoque (just pre stop/start)

The Evoque therefore has the "old" 2.2 diesel, which pulls well, if a little noisily. I drove a Disco sport last week with the new Ingenium engine - NVH was fine, but ultimately it was slower, a lot slower.

Apart from a battery change, the Evoque has been fine, but she has only put 12k miles on it in three years.

The Sport? Just had a new rear diff, otherwise love it. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

Thanks for the input all. I've ordered one Smile

SWMBO wants a small 4x4 and the evoque fitted the bill. Looked at the Macan too but was just too much money with the right options.

Hoping the MY17 car's have a better build than the older ones!

Will post pics when she arrives in October. Thumbs Up
