3rd high level brake light

Hi all,

One of the LED's on my 3rd high level brake light is blown (2010 TDV8) and I'm looking at replacing the unit.

Before I do, does anyone know:

- if it can be repaired rather than replaced?
- Is it a simple DIY job to swap units (as in screw/plug in) or is it more involved involving bonding etc?

I've found a replacement unit for £40 but I'd obviously just rather have the existing unit repaired if possible.

Thanks!

Hi,

It is held in with a couple of small nut's, no bonding and easy to replace. Downside is you have to remove spoiler to do it as well which in itself in not to hard either.

Cheers
Col

Thanks! I found a couple of videos on this and it seems pretty simple to remove the spoiler (4 or 5 bolts and unplug the washer hose and electrical wire). Then the light change itself looks simple.

Jobs a good 'un (hopefully!)
