Prevent Rear wheel arch Rust (older models)

I would recommend owners of early RRS check their rear wheel arches.

I got 2 dust pan brush fulls of solid mud/sand out of the rear of one side.

Mud was up to the dark rust line.

There are 2 screws in this area which hold the wheel arch in. They were complete siezed and needed grinding/drilling out.

While in this area you should remove the wheel arch plastic cap. It just clips on and off very easily.

One side was fine, but the other side was full up of sand/mud. I could actually feel the weight in it while removing it.

So this is a worth while 5 minute job to remove and clean and apply rust treatment

Don't know how common this is.

New Zealand 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Autobiography Santorini Black

Don't know about the rust aspect, but recently had those plastic trims off and as you say both full up with mud and crap about three time lighter when refitted and that's a MY13 car.

Cheers
Col
