Watch service

Hi all . My Breitling needs a service, breitling need eight weeks to do the job . I'm wondering if anyone has used a local quicker watch smith that will still stamp the service book with the correct Breitling stamp and do a proper job .

Mines four years old and worn daily. 560 through goldsmiths back to Breitling, it's the eight weeks without it that I don't like the idea of .

560 to "service" a watch? A watch! Shocked Shocked

Wow, talk about being sold a bridge... Rolling with laughter 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Shocked i was thinking that, its one of the reasons i didn't buy a Omega PlanetOcean with some inheritance i got, the service would cost more than the watch it would replace which has never been serviced, but i couldn't go down that route with the Omega if i wanted to keep it long term

What is the recommended service interval on Breitlings just out of interest? I know Rolex increased theirs to 10 years recently. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Unfortunately, my Rolex won't last 10 years without a service, slows to a grinding halt about every 5 years. There again, it is nearly fourty years old! I bought my Sea Dweller in Saudi Arabia (Dahran) in 1977 with my first annual bonus from ARAMCO!! It cost me just under 600 then. The last service which was done in Kuala Lumpur cost me just over 400!!! Have no idea how much it would be here in UK. Probably around 50% more!!!!

Business idea: Supply loan watches when people's watches go in for a service and charge an admin/insurance fee. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Buckster,

I have no idea whether it is a double red or not. How would I be able to tell?

I went into the dealership to buy a Submariner, but there was no stock. However, he had purchased a bunch of Sea Dwellers as he heard that there was going to be a major diving campaign coming up. Unfortunately for him, this was deferred for about 4 years, so he was having problems selling these watches to anyone other than professional divers and those determined to buy a Rolex at that time.

Fletcher,

That's me, your dad and about 4,000 other expats at that time!!!

Cheers,
