2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Reliability has never been an issue with any of the RRS's or L322's that I have owned. I had the severe battery flattening problem that early Evoques suffered with my first one but it never left me stranded as I had another car to use or it got fixed while I was overseas, that Evoque was also one of the first delivered to a private owner in the UK and I was expecting to have a few "new model" niggles but that was it. My 2nd Evoque though was so bad that I sold it on after 11 months ownership, rattles above the roof lining that I was advised needed the roof lining, front screen and panoramic roof all to come out and then after a gearbox software upgrade at 9 months old a series of burned out DPF sensors. These were inconvenient and meant that the car went into limp home mode and it invariably did it in the outside lane of the motorway at 70+mph which wasn't nice. My Defender though has never broken down in 88000 miles and 20 years, it has needed one replacement battery, a replacement dipped beam lamp, a couple of sets of new wiper blades, 2 cambelt changes and 5 new tyres in that time! The major failures it has had - replacement chassis in 2010, new transfer case in 2013 and a new rear door last year have been due to the abuse I have given it off-road or old age failures. I had all the lights replaced with LED's several years ago because it kept blowing bulbs and last I had the headlights replaced with LED units that has transformed night time driving but otherwise the mechanicals are as it left the factory in July 1996, and it has led a very hard life in my hands as it was used for really severe off-roading/ winch challenges for most of it's life and now is getting used for green laning as it grows older! Next item for replacement will be the paint (it will be resprayed next winter) and some Defender XS style heated front seats as the originals while still very comfortable are starting to sag a bit. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

My RRS has only been "unreliable" twice. Both times were turbo related. However, it has been extremely demanding of TLC and money.

Example. Rear diff leak recently. New seal required I think. Turns out that the driveshaft was worn by crud so a new shaft required too.

The diff is leaking again a couple of weeks later. Hopefully it's just a bad seal but who wants to bet a new diff is required?

This is the problem with LR problems. The niggles are a pain and are the things that get people moaning. They also get expensive once out of warranty.

Fix or sell? The ongoing LR owner debate. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Defo not a Disco Sport, although it looks very similar... Like an XL version of it.
See the horizontal line that follows the door handles, then see the relationship between the filler cap and that line (and that body panel in general) and you can see it's new and it's bigger. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
RRS TDV6 HSE Lux (MY2011)... Nara Bronze / Arabica - now gone!

It is the Disco 5, but as per the new "corporate face", they all look the same Neutral

I never understand why the insist on the weird paint job.
It simply attracts attention, if they wanted to be discrete (which they obviously don't) then paint it metallic grey!

But if you want it noticed then do it a good smart colour.

Corporate face really hits the nail on the head.
Driving face to face it's not so easy to guess a FF vs the RRS, the Evoque vs the DS but Disco4 is easier,
Looks like that will change, but it will be very much like 7 seat RRS??
