2006 Front diff removal?

Anyone have step by step instructions on how to change RRS front diff , I have 4 poster lift and decent workshop etc, I suspect the diff is on its way out at 74k, noise and vibration on the overrun at around 65mph.oil has been changed etc.
Cannot find video on the actual change of the front diff?[b].
Thanks for any info !

Many thanks Jim,
For all the info from the link, really great to have,, my feeling is to go for a recon unit from the local dealer depending on the price,! the crown wheel and pinion I suspect could have damage!, as when the car is slowing down has a notchy feeling as well as the whine, like as if they are not meshing correctly. this is at high speed.!! rather worrying driving sensation making me drive around 50mph even then its detectable.
My Sincere thanks
John

My front diff locked up coming off a slip road on the M67. It was certainly a hair raising experience. Get a 2005-2009 RRS (FAH500210) sat nav/dash mat here - the one that wasn't there when you bought the car.

Spiffing wheel centre caps available

Thanks, both Mike and Stuart for your reply.
Ok mike on City Gearboxes will give them a ring this week , of-course still need a mega flush done whenever possible.

Hell Stuart that would have been frightening when the diff locked up would have been interesting to have a view of the box when it was dismantled!.
When you think of it this is really a safety issue with Land Rover they must know there are issues, I guess the great escape for them is service records etc and deny there is a problem .

Thanks for all the info it is of great help!

John ps The reg number now changed to 5JGM

Hi Jim ,
Yes It is a one owner car bought from a dealer in Plymouth with FSH.74K had it shipped up as driving 500+ miles is too much for me, had it 11 months but only done 1k miles around the Scottish Borders no fast roads around here , have breakdown insurance on the car but know that with the diff its wear and tear as they would say.
The car I would say is mint and coming from Devon has no rust whatever.so yes I have had the Timing belts done at my local LR dealer, egr removed myself, and now a exchange diff to replace, a box mega-flush to be done, so if it costs a couple of £K it is insignificant to what a new car can lose in one year.

Intend keeping the car for many years and do not mind keeping her good.
Thanks John

Its been a couple of months since fitting a recon or con front diff from a (recommended Company) (here) cannot say that I was impressed with the unit supplied, all be it delivered in a nice wooden box, after fitting have had to flush the box out twice to get rid of rust contamination still in the recon unit , makes me wonder if this was taken off a car and a squirt of paint on the outside, and nothing done to the unit However the diff is quiet and seems to be ok
Having kept my old diff if it goes again will refurbish it myself. and be sure its right.
am a bit disappointed on myself for being taken in! guess its being 68yrs old makes me vulnerable,, yep self to blame
