England 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black
Who's getting their TDV8 Sport first?

There are lots of threads suggesting that TDV8 Sports are going to be available any time now. I'm under the impression that they will come through late Jan / early Feb.

It would be interesting to hear from those with TDV8's on order to find out:

When they ordered the car?
What they've ordered?
What the originally planned delivery date was?
What the current expected delivery date is?
What the dealer is saying?

Perhaps the thread could start with Very Happy or Smile or Sad or perhaps Evil or Very Mad TDV8 HSE in Java/Ebony with Zebrano Wood, RSE, Hybrid TV, and a few other bells and whistles.

...being aware of the fact that the situation in Switzerland is of little interest to you I can still tell you that TDV8s ordered now will not be delivered before June 07.

Was in Newmarket at the beginning of the week for horsey business and paid a visit to the LR dealer in Cambridge and heard an identical story. It's due to a problem with some TDV8 engine components not being readily available. Different story if you go for the full size RR though. SOMETIMES YOU'RE THE BUG AND SOMETIMES YOU'RE THE WINDSHIELD

Re: Who's getting their TDV8 Sport first?

When they ordered the car?

- pretty much as soon as they were announced, but cannot remember quite that was, say 5 months ago ...ish.

What they've ordered?

- Exactly the same as my TdV6, just the bigger engine, new spec (dynamic etc), but cannot see the point of TV ???

What the originally planned delivery date was?

- Early December

What the current expected delivery date is?

- 20 something December, so I'll probably wait till early Jan "07

What the dealer is saying?

- Delay's outwith their control, simply normal LR inefficency in saying one thing one month, saying another thing the next month, and doing somethig completely differently the months after Rolling Eyes RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini

Sorry but I have to jump to Land Rovers defence on the current TDV8 situation.

The delay to peoples promised delivery dates is beyond Land Rovers control, it is down to a shortage of TDV8 engines from Ford's Dagenham engine plant. Dagenham are unable to supply the quantity of engines required due to a parts shortage from one of their second tier suppliers. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

just to add some balance - from my previous experience working for a major OEM supplier, LR do get treated like second best sometimes - I remember my company would always prioritise others over LR - was always unfair

Although I don't know all of the details, I believe the shortage of parts into Dagenham is due to a facility constraint which is restricting production volumes.

I should imagine there are a few red faces as the company involved is a major player in the field of automotive electrical systems and automotive electrical engineering. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Stornoway Grey

When they ordered the car?

I was already lining up a TD V6 for September when LR announced the engine was going into the FFRR. I made further enquiries (June, July?), and I ordered as soon as it was confirmed that the RRS would get the engine. I took a slight risk and ordered before the prices had been announced.

What they've ordered?

I ordered a standard HSE Car in Stornoway, plus privacy. I didn't see the need for any of the other options at the time although I wish I'd ordered the electrics for the light tow pack.

What the originally planned delivery date was?

- Apr, switching quickly to Jan / Feb, then early December as more details were known.

What the current expected delivery date is?

I pick up the car on 06 Dec.

What the dealer is saying?

Sorry it's Java Black not Grey - we cocked up. Driving - TDV8 HSE in Stornaway / Ebony / Brunel
Sold - 56 TDV8 HSE in Java Black EBONY/RHODIUM/PRIVACY GLASS
Sold - 05 TDV6 HSE BONATTI/BLACK/RHODIUM 20''STORMERS, PTI AND FACTORY TINT.
