Whistle when accelerating afte cam belt change

I have just had the belts changed on my 56 plate RRS 2.7 and it's come back with a whistle.
dose anyone know about this and what it could be as I'm driving it and the garage can't get it fitted in until Monday.

Inlet housing not attached to the throttle body correctly would be my initial thought.

Next would be, is it a whistle, or is it a noisy bearing/belt

Thanks for the reply.
Could that cause it to drink fuel?

This turned out to be a socket that had been dropped into the turbo by an idiot.

Wow. That's terrifying. How long were you running it with that in there?

That is unbelievable, the person should at least be on a serious warning, lucky not to be sacked.
My LR service centre uses shadow boards and signs all tools back in, to prevent such a thing.
It doesn't bear thinking about what could have happened and at mega pounds cost! Censored
They should at least give you some free services etc. John

Are the blades shagged? Wouldnt be surprised if debris got into the engine

IMO they should be replacing the turbo for free. Absolutely shocking!

I ran for a couple of hundred miles and the result was a new turbo that was replaced by the dealer.
They are claiming from the garage for the £1,500 bill for all the damage.

Kind of brings home how important it is to find a reputable mechanic.

I can literally think of nothing more stressful than handing my pride and joy over to someone and knowing nothing about their reputation. When finding a new one I spend longer researching garages than I do looking at prospective cars..

Even with something as simple as seat covers when they drive your pride and joy into the works. Not all do!!! John

The first thing I do when I am doing the belts is as soon as I remove the air pipe, I stuff a big rag in the pipe so nothing can fall down.

Flack Thumbs Up
