iPhone mirroring in a 2008 RRS... Will this work?

Hello,

I'm looking for something that will allow me to mirror my iPhone screen on to the navigation touch screen in my 2008 RRS.

I've found this (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00YSIQ2IY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_nTeaxbZE9YM3N) on Amazon, but the product information says nothing about how it is connected/what cars it can be installed in.

Looks like it needs to connect with a CVBS which is RCA so wll need to be connected to the red, white and yellow connection inside the car if you have one.

I wouldn't be jumping right into installing this unit since it might be mirroring the contents of the phone screen, but will not allow any input from the car touchscreen to be sent back to the phone. You stiil need to operate the actual phone in your hand, which doesn't make any sense in terms of usability. Regards etc.,

Wojtek

True! I'd be primarily using it to mirror Waze from my iPhone. So not too fussed about being able to interact with it.

Don't think I have RCA... Do you know if I would need to buy something else to be able to connect this to the stock sat nav?

Don't bother.

I use this: http://tinyurl.com/j5vyvpd

Mounts in the centre air vent and is at just the right height to use.

I just got the mirror device and i gotta say I'm very impressed, the sound quality is awesome compared to the Bluetooth dongle I tried which was hooked up via the headphone jack.
And obviously I can mirror everything from my android devices and iOS devices.

Best of all its all hidden in the top glove box out of sight. RRsport 2.7 tdv6 HSE

RangeRoverMan,

Can you give us some more details. What did you buy exactly, what functionality. How does it wire up, etc. Does it just mirror or can you control it from the touchscreen etc?

Thanks Thumbs Up

I purchased the exact model from the link of the op's first post here.

No touchscreen control just mirroring from device , I have it hooked up via an AV input on the alpine free view unit which I usually have my media player hooked up to.

The mirroring is great for me as I can also send what's on my screen to the rear entertainment screens for the benifit of the kids .netflix looks great.

The unit has a web address and an app on android which I can then change settings with Etc. Good fun being Sat on my driveway the device was finding my nas drive in my office via the wifi and I could browse through folders . RRsport 2.7 tdv6 HSE
