I have the new style 5 button key for 15 plate AB.

I must of dropped the keys and the chrome part has gone missing including the emergency key blade that was inside (being held in by the chrome side part) I still have the rest of the key fob and it works..

Has anyone replaced a key of this style before? Dealer cost for a full key fob (including cut blade) etc?

Ive seen a few options on eBay but am rather suspicious of fakes, I was thinking of just buying one and taking the chrome part of to put back on mine but then i also want a blade and would need to get this cut.. Has anyone had One cut?

Hi

You can buy both the chrome part and blank key separate from L/R, but I wouldn't know how you would go about getting the blade cut as you do not have a pattern, unless a locksmith has special equipment to copy the barrel tumblers.

I though I read somewhere recently that you may have to replace the KVM module, if you need new key's due to something to do with the security system of the car and cloning key's. I could be completely wrong about that though.

Surely you do have a pattern as you have the spare key which also had a blade in it - or have I missed something. -
Years ago had one done, and was done through an independent locksmith

If you read the thread for the Disco forum you will see that a chap had a blade key cut from a photo he supplied......

& the KVM module is only when the fob is lost which it isn't in this case, so that's also irrelevant.

I do have the spare and it has a blade inside that is cut.
So yes just need a replacement chrome section and a replacement blade for the 2nd key.
