diy 7pin uk electrics. help needed

Diy trailer light hookup. 7pin. Help needed

Hi, i have just tried the diy approach with using a bulb tester to find out which pins power what. I am using a standard 7 pin socket but i can only get one sidelight to work on trailer board?? Also if i brake the when i am indicating the indicators go off?

Anyone help or has anyone done it the "cheap" way successfully and let me know exactly which wires work for them?

How do you find separate left and right side lights? Thanks, Gab

Sounds like you either have a wire missing or a bad earth.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I know the wiring for the standard 7pin plug. It's finding which wires on the range rover sport that correspond to these. I have also checked the ground and sanded it and reconnected but it's still the same.

I have joined the right tail light and left taillight wires into one? Is this correct? How do you test which wire on the loom is for the right or left side? Hope this makes sense?

Thanks

I personally would pay a bit more and use dedicated plug in electrics on the RRS although I've done my own bypass relay on previous vehicles. The RRS has enough electric gremlins already without increasing risk and expensive repairs Embarassed

Either buy genuine or reputable dedicated kit it's not worth saving a few quid on a RRS wiring IMHO Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW
