WELL GETTING CLOSER to being a valid member. Got my Car VIN today , and have already insured ready for delivery. Of interest the insurance costs were $18.00 p.a. more than my 7 yr old R50 , who'd of thought. Car built in November 2105 , Compliance is Feb 2016 which I am well pleased about.

Car still not at the dealers but hoping it will arrive tomorrow and with some luck I will be in it by the weekend. Looking forward to picking up and getting everything organised. I noted that I started researching the car in 2013 , looking at my old posts I really am slow to make a decision hope my research serves me well.

$18.00 per annum...Surely a typo! My insurance is $1377 per annum with Allianz through Alphera. SDV8 arrived and fantastic even the infotainment!
1983 2 door Range Rover ARB Bar X9000 winch ARB Rear Bar now semi retired.
Many big trips done in this one.
1982 Rangerover nearly restored.
22 Defender D250 with lots of stuff for outback touring
Nice 2013 Freelander TD4 manual (for daughter to learn on) with much better stereo compared with previous SD4 SE with Meridian which sounded bad!
2013 Land Rover Defender ute.

Yes although only $18 p.a more the price through NRMA with 65 % no claim was $1700.00 odd with hire car and glass replacement.

Now that I have the VIN I put it in TOPIX and the result was slightly different to the dealer info. Topix has the car made 22/12/2015 where the dealer said it was a Nov build, in any case late 2015 build so I hope I have all the improvements to that date. TOPIX is and interesting site, seems that they will notify me of issues? Any way it all about waiting now .

22/12 build - could be worse.......... could be 24/12 build, just after the factory Xmas party! Very Happy BTW don't take what is on Topix as gospel, it should be correct but often isn't. There is a thread over on BabyRR.com posted by a member there who has had huge issues with a new Evoque and LR has rpelied to him regarding some changes that he alledges were made to his ToPix info after he complained about shoddy treatment and spec not being correct

Not sure what others think, but $1700 p.a. sounds high for insurance. Obviously depends on personal circumstances.

I've just been quoted $918 p.a. with RAA for 2016 SDV8 HSE Dynamic with options, lifetime rating 1 (65% no claims) $500 excess, hire car and glass replacement included, lifetime replacement vehicle if written off. 2016 Range Rover Sport SDV8 HSE Dynamic (Indus Silver/Santorini Black Pano Roof, Ebony/Cirrus leather, custom grey Style 508 alloys)

Best I've found so far is Allianz, $2,000 with full no claims, secure parking but I'm in central
Sydney.

I could possibly find cheaper but I don't want to skimp too much on the quality of the Insurance

$918 sounds great tho. Wonder what you'd get if you changed the postcode to Sydney i

I agree the quality of insurance is important.

Not sure about the effect if you change location. RAA only deal in SA registered vehicles.

I know when I looked at other quotes, I was getting anything between $1,200 and $1,700 p.a. RAA are certainly the cheapest I have found. Some companies/brokers wont touch the RRS. 2016 Range Rover Sport SDV8 HSE Dynamic (Indus Silver/Santorini Black Pano Roof, Ebony/Cirrus leather, custom grey Style 508 alloys)

Your rate is so good because you live in a state that has no population . A good rate for sure.

I have been told my car should be ready Monday , I am going to see if this can be changed to this Saturday as I can't see them doing any work over the weekend. If it is Monday I'll only have a couple of days before I jump on the Motorbike and head for Phillip Island for the WSBK.

I don't know how you can stand riding all the way from
NSW to phillip island on a super bike with all the speed cameras around with the 110k limit

I ride a BMW GS not a sports bike. Back roads most of the way and speed cameras are not an issue. Have ridden to Phillip Is 2 times a year since the races started there. Have had a few encounters with the Vic police but that's the price of entry .

Maybe not as great a population as NSW, but that's how we like it!!! Thumbs Up

Hi aussie fella's.

I have just taken delivery of my MY17 SE SDV6. I ordered it with the tow bar, the receiver is there but the tow ball and hitch part isn't. I went back to the dealer and they said it doesn't come with the tow bar, just thee receiver..., but they "gave" me one from parts, its in a black vinyl bag with "landrover" logos...

It does't fit though, because it isn't long enough?? I think this is strange, surly when you order a car with a tow bar it comes with a tow bar... Rolling with laughter

What did you guys get with yours (tow bar)? 2017 MY17 SDV6 SE
