Penny pinching or a programming mistake on the configurator?

As one does now and again I have been playing in the "Build Your Own" bit of the LR Website and when building my own car and then an SVR................. I notice that on the lowly standard cars paddle shifters are included in the price but if you order your £95,000 (before any options) SVR they become a "NCO" item! Penny pinching in the hope that SVR buyers might forget to add paddle shifters or a programming error by the website admin? I thought that the configurator was supposed to be bench tested before it was put up on the net after all the previous errors that we point out, but maybe not. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Car companies do work in a strange manner and always have done. Let's take BMW for example - a 3 (now 4) series coupe has Xenon headlights as standard however in a 5 series SE you have to spec them! The 5 series will have heated seats as standard but in an X5 you have to spec them. The 1 series has a better standard sound system that that in a 3 series - never made sense to me!

Did you not realise you are the beta tester, much cheaper than employing professional QA - US based or otherwise !

We have only to see on the FFRR where front fog lights are on optional extra on most of the range. but standard lower down the range.
