Rear wiper blade

Over the years I have spent more time under various Land Rovers than I care to remember, but, for the life of me, I can not work out how to change the rear wiper blade on my L494?

Anyone help me out?

Jim

I'd love to know if you figure something out.

Stopping the blade in the correct position, by opening the tail gate when the wiper is in the 6 o'clock position is not the issue. I just can not figure out how to make the space required to remove the blade, as the arm will only lift a couple of mm due to the roof spoiler.....

To get the rear wiper to stay in the middle of the window without haveng to open the boot at the exact time this works on my MY15.5

1- turn the ignition on
2- turn ignition off. as its going off hold the right stalk down in the single wipe position
3- while still holding the stalk down turn the ignition back on front and rear wipers will move to the "service" position

leave the key in the car while you change the blades then turn the ignition off to reset them.

I'd watch out for the battery time-out though. if the ignition goes off they will probably return to their normal positions and if you've left them off the window then they are going to hit your bonnet.

personally I'd use winter park for the fronts as i can turn the ignition off and there's no danger of them moving and this if i ever need to do the rear although it would be nice to be able to clean up there once in a while.

I tried the "open the tailgate" method - it worked. Precise method:

In "Park", engine idling, EPB engaged.

Switch rear wiper to "continuous".

Hit "open tailgate" button at appropriate moment - wiper stops dead.

Manually push tailgate down to give access to wiper blade (don't close it completely)

When finish, press "tailgate close" button, and wiper restarts.

HTH

But I didn't get as far as actually trying to remove the wiper arm as at that exact moment the heavens opened.........sorry. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

OK, so I revisited this today.

Used the same method to get the rear wiper to stoop close to the 6o'clock position.

The blade is a doddle to remove - look for two little serrated edged clips about 50mm up the wiper arm, on the sides, - squeeze them together and the blade releases.

Simples! No need to lift it more than 10mmm off the glass. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

Does anybody know what wiper blade is required for the rear of a RRSport 2014 . There are none listed in all the after market suppliers that I can find.
Thanks

The Original from LR is only 400mm long, a simple Standard Blade.

You can use every Blade with the old mount Clip, I changed After a few Weeks of ownership to Bosch Aerotwin Flatblade, 430mm or 17".

You get a cleaner Look and a 3cm wider view, everything better than Original.
