United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Autobiography Java Black
Alarm triggering randomly

Hi All,
I've recently got my hands on a 2010 5.0 V8 Supercharged Autobiography...and LOVE it!!! But the alarm randomly goes off even though there are no obvious reason to trigger it. I also now and again get a Bonnet Open warning on the dash while driving even though the bonnet is quite clearly shut! Could the 2 be related?
Anyone had this problem?

Yes, bonnet sensors are a well known cause of false alarms for the alarm system and dash warnings. Even if the bonnet looks fully down just check that the nearside catch is fully engaging, but also if you look at some of thefairly recent threads or search using the search function there are recent questions about this very problem. Also check that the rubber/plastic piece that is on the underside of the bonnet hasn't moved or dropped off. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I had this problem, my local indie fitted a new bonnett lock, not as straight forward as I thought it was, can't remember the price, but it was cheap enough, under £50 anyway 07,TDV8,Black, Black Heated leather all round, Rear Entertainment with Headpones & Remote, TV, DVD, Pure Dab Digital Radio, Sidesteps, Adaptive Headlights, sunroof, now working fuel burning heater Smile)))

I found a video showing how to reset the bonnet catch on another thread and after trying it, it seems to have done the trick. I think I will get it replaced long term if it's that cheap to do.

Good idea, the plastic tabs will eventually fail completely, better to do it a.s.ap Smile 07,TDV8,Black, Black Heated leather all round, Rear Entertainment with Headpones & Remote, TV, DVD, Pure Dab Digital Radio, Sidesteps, Adaptive Headlights, sunroof, now working fuel burning heater Smile)))
