Laughing they can't be £300 surely?
Like Matt I like the idea of more off road clearance but then there are probably some bits associated with them that could be vulnerable as well.
Will probably be a big seller though.

I want some!
While it looks like they will be better off-road than the current fixed steps, it looks like the supports and motors could be protruding underneath.

Maybe the are £300 per side, not £300 the pair. Matt

I think the electric side steps would be very vulnerable offroad........................ The side steps on my Def are so mangled they warranted a comment on the MOT on Monday along with the buckled front bumper. I use my side steps as sill guards, if they start grinding on the rocks then it's time to find another route before serious damage starts to happen to the sills! Much cheaper to replace a set of side steps every 3-4 years than to have new sills fitted, rock sliders might be useful but the don't have a second use as steps or a 3rd use as an echosounder.

This is one thing to watch out for if rock climbing in an RRS - if you don't have side steps fitted, you will knacker the door panels before you damage the sills because of the design of the door.............. ££££££££££££££££££££££'s to fix 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

They even have a sensor on them so if you have parked too close to the kerb and one or other cannot extend for some reason it automatically retracts. I think they look good stowed away, and much better than the monster flashy chromed side tubes that I bought for my TD6. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Those flashy chromed side tubes do look good, but are not practical, have not other use than looking good on a car Laughing

Mrs S had these on her previous FL - and they did nothing but look good (and ruin your trousers every time you got out, even with my long legs!).

If the Freelander loaner I had on Tuesday is anything to go by you don't need side steps on one to ruin trousers! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
