Seems the 6230 works the most, but as VA says check the s/w revision. I have a 6230 and as long as I switch it on and enter the PIN before I put it in the cradle, everything's hunky dory.

Is there a PIN for the car?

I am not aware of one. I don't have PIN security on my phones, but you DO need to make sure the handset is on before you insert into the cradle as there is no way to switch it on from the IHU. (Integrated Head Unit) You can switch it off however. L319 D4 HSE

The phone PIN I'm talking about, if you have one set... although there is the facility to enter the PIN through the head unit (and it works) - it does seem that my address book is never available until I redock the phone. So, I just make sure I've entered the PIN before I dock the phone and I never have any problems...

I have worked out a cunning phone strategy for the anticipated new addition to the family:

Got an old 6230 with software version 4.44, just bought another 6230 off a nice chap at work with the latest version - 5.50.

So hopefully, both the wife and I will have phones that work.....however:

Will try both in the RRS when it finaly makes it to my drive. If they both work I will dish out the cigars and wet the babies head. If the 4.44 doesn't work I will take it into carphone warehouse for the £20 upgrade, if the 5.50 doesn't work I will use it to test out the 'crap phone' terrain response setting in the RRS (I speced this as a NCO) and if the upgraded 4.44 still doesn't work I will strap it to a brick and return it to Solihull with a nice love letter. I will then buy a few hundred thousand feet of wax string and two plastic cups.

I think this strategy covers all likely outcomes.......I will update you all after I have the car on the drive Cool Shocked Laughing Currently: Carbon Black 535d
