WAS Blackvue 650 opinions NOW Thinkware F750 thanks to BC :)

Looking to replace my blackvue 500 now my son's nabbed it and given my old 400 he also recycled to my daughter - cost me a fortune buying dash cams Rolling Eyes

So done a load of research but not keen on all the recommended dash cams with sucker mounts and bulky bodies as I prefer the less visible blackvue style and I want front and rear camera now too Confused

So looking for opinions especially from owners of 650 as to reliability and quality Bow down Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

Hi Paul,
This camera is new on the market... http://www.mi-witness.co.uk/

I'm not sure how good it is. Bit pricey though. Shocked

Cheers Ady

They are only 720 HD whereas BV is 1080 HD so unsure if it's as good and it's slightly dearer Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

I've got the blackvue dr650 2 channel. Had it about 18 months now. I only had 1 problem where it wouldn't receive a gps signal. After leaving it disconnected from the power magic for 3 days, this allowed the gps battery to fully drain and it's been superb since. No problems. Good picture quality doesn't get hot and it's on 24/7 so no complaints here Thumbs Up

Had same problem with 500 and hids4u swapped it under warranty. My old 400 has been temperamental in sons car too shutting down so bit worried about buying BV again

They're highly rated on these forums though so thinking give them another go Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Thumbs Up Yep, no problems after resetting the gps (Touch wood) and it's been running non-stop for 18 months at least, connected to the power magic.

And the 2 channel works well, although the rear is only 720p

Not got a Blackvue, but know many on here do, but recently got a Thinkware 750 (front and rear) for my BM. Great piece of kit, not as slimline as the Blackvue, but has the added bonus of built in 'accident hot spot areas' Wink
Still tucks away behind the rear view mirror and is virtually unnoticeable from outside. Also has parallel recording for the rear camera which piggy backs the front uni and is very compact. As with all these days, very easy to configure from an iPhone and even download footage.
Definitely worth a look if you're in the market for a new one.
Cheapest place I found was Amazon, £270 for both I think Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

This looks good and 1080 rear compared to BV 720 Cool

Looking at hardwired kit but unsure how to protect battery against discharge - is it built in Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

It's a pity that you can't find a piece of kit that lets you use/record via the vehicle built in camera's. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

Agree - I have front and rear cameras built in DS but no means of recording Big Cry

According to discosportforum the quality would be rubbish anyway though Embarassed Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW
