diesel acceleration

Anyone had a fault where diesel engine warm, moving off from junction. Floor the throttle and vehicle just sits there for what seems like an age before it decides to move off.
Dealer tries to tell me its turbo lag!!! Laughing

This was fixed for me when I had all the VEP work done on mine.

Look at this thread for the details.

Hi
You dont seem to have many replies so i thought i would. The flat spot you talk of is terrible. I had it on my D3 and now on my RRS. My mate just picked up his 07 RRS 2 weeks ago and it's exactly the same. I think it's that bad i would almost describe it as bloody dangerous. I had a test drive in a TDV8 last week and that had it as well. I think it's a combination of turgo lag and a dim witted gearbox that cant decide on a gear. I have written to Land Rover about it, i will post the reply if i get one.

There is no getting away from that turbo-lag, but after I had my car re-programmed by Turbo-Chip there was a real improvement in both performance and cutting down the delay time, although that did mean I couldn’t finish War and Peace when going round the 4,921 roundabouts in Milton Keynes...with the turbo-delay I always had ample reading opportunities.

Obviously, in a perfect world the problem wouldn’t exist but it does ...think about getting Turbo-chip to do their stuff.

mine does this too. had a few close shaves pulling onto roundabouts - becomes unpredictable as to your pull-away capabilities... sometimes its great, then other times your heart misses a beat!

I think it may be that the gearbox chooses 2nd gear too quickly (I thknk it often occurs if you pull away slightly, hesitate then put your foot down)..?

I have had this problem to. I also notice my power in general is down. I had the adaptions reset on the car and that helped a lot, however it has happened again Crying or Very sad

Yep - this has happened to me a couple of times. Sometimes pull away cleanly other times unbearable delay.

Will try the sport mode as suggested - see if an improvement MY10 TDV6 HSE, Alaska White, Ebony with Contrast, Park Heat, Paddle Shift, Privacy, Heated Steering Wheel, Extended & Premium Leather,

I tend to use the sport mode a lot for pull aways and has become 2nd nature - was far more hesitant when first drove the RRS after the 330Ci - it was like my driving style had aged 20 years... Shocked

Just got my sport this week. Am quite happy with the way it pulls away. I had an XC90 before and it was bloody terrible for a delay, nearly got me splatted loads of times

Hi Jim what RRS do you have. There is an off road course open Sun the 19th at Farley quarry on the Buildwas to Much Wenlock road why dont you come and get it dirty. I will be there having fun.

P.S my P38 used to be dangerous when pulling away, but the RRS so far seems ok. some of my Previous cars
