Mine flaked also and were replaced with the same "If it happens again whilst the vehicle is under warranty Land Rover will replace them FOC"

Only now they have flaked again Land Rover now say that there is no problem with the paint finish on the callipers and that they WILL NOT replace them, even though my car is still under warranty....

Even if they do replace more than once in 3 years, is that acceptable quality for the price? That's the main issue I think. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

4 weeks old and a 1000 miles and my rear calipers are starting to shed paint. Will log the issue with the dealer but may wait until the worst of the winter is over before I get them replaced, or sooner if it has to go back for anything else.

Overall very pleased with the car after a bad experience with an Evoque, even so paint should not be falling off this early on something that has cost me over 70K.

It might be worth remembering that one of the arguments Land Rover use for requesting owners use genuine LR parts is because ALL OEM parts come with a 1 year warranty.

In any case any work done by a dealer after October 1st when the new Consumer Act came in must be fit for purpose.

So if you have to have replacements those replacements also carry a warranty !!! Tis the Dealer's problem as they are who you have bought the car from and hence the 'contract' is with them. Whether JLR will indemnify them,their costs, is not, strictly speaking, the owner's problem

drdelrrs, thanks for the reminder on the Consumer Act, we picked up the car on 1st October so will be covered. My dealer (the nearest) is a 250 mile round trip away so I will wait to see if anything else needs sorting in the coming months, in the end its only paint. My 6 month old 5 series is going in next week for the callipers to be redone as they are corroding so not just JLR. I did ask if we can paint them a different colour than the silvery original but they said no! Was hoping they might do me a deal on the blue M sport ones! MY16 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography in Aleutian silver, stealth pack and toys.

My 2006 - 9 year old Porsche Boxster S still has perfect red paint on both front and rear calipers - brake pads and discs have been replaced a few times but the calipers still look like the day I picked the car up in October 2006. And no, I do not spend any time looking after them - the car gets washed occasionally but that is it.

If Porsche could achieve this level of quality almost ten years ago why does LR struggle so much in 2015?

My new (and first) Sport arrives in Dec, is it a given that the callipers will eventually start 'peeling'?
If it's a known issue why don't they just change the f***ing paint, or is that too easy?!

We aren't an isolated group...it's simply some people don't know of the issue and don't look...

I despise the arrogance of JLR saying there isn't a problem .. and just replacing faulty parts with more faulty parts..which in

turn will duly fail...

I have had mine for over 7 weeks. After a 550 mile trip over the weekend it has now done almost 1,700 miles. After a wash today I checked and both front and rear callipers are OK so far.
