Rattle and revs

hi, it seems like I'm asking questions daily at the moment so I'm sorry if I'm annoying anyone. Mr. Green Iv got what I describe as a rattle, if I'm driving steady at 50 light acceleration I hear a rattle noise, (it sounds like a rattle/vibration to me anyway) although I can't feel it only hear it, maybe turbo bearing rattle if there is such a thing, or heat shield rattle, I no it really poor description but any suggestions, also I was revving the car at standstill and it won't rev over 4000 rpm (is this a safety feature) I took it for a drive and floored it, the car seemed to pull ok to me but wouldn't go above 4000rpm it just changed up gears. Is that normal???

To test the revs, try sticking it in manual mode (push the gear lever over to the left), and select gears manually, that'll prevent it changing up.

The rattle could be normal. I can hear something similar on mine when the window is wound down, and i'm just feathering the throttle, (ie very light to no throttle). There is another thread by someone who's done quite a bit investigation on this, and thinks it's some bearing in the autobox, but nothing to worry about.
But as always, satisfy yourself, as I may be talking about a different thing. Thumbs Up
