anyone know this range rover sport

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-RANGE-ROVER...&rt=nc

freind of mine might be getting it but guy has no service history with it, thought anyone on here could shed some light on it. I know you cannot chase history as its individual garages but is there any other way of tracing anything on it?
thanks Smile

Shocked
Oh dear..... The more you mod them, the less they are worth. Certainly not worth the 20k he was hoping to get for it. I wouldn't touch a RRS without a service history. But if it's what floats your mates boat, then that is upto him. Check to see when the cam belt was last changed, ask when it was last serviced at least, he must know that. Sooo much needs keeping upto on a Range Rover Sport, you really need to know its history... If it hasn't been mapped right, he will be looking at big transmission bills very soon.

Yeah, if he's lucky he'd probably get away with just the transmission... Exclamation Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

- Completely true. Is there any mod that actually adds value? I rather doubt it.

I wonder how much one would pay not to have the current number plate?

"A real head turner!" Yeh yeh, it's the pedestrians looking round to see who the plonker is who is playing 3200w of thumping from just behind the rear seats. I like to think that my intercooler, silicone hoses, V8 brakes and FBH controller, for instance, are good things, if not adding much/any monetary value. Wink Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

I'd probably class those as mechanical improvements rather than mods, but perhaps we should refine the concept a little. Visible mods design to improve the aesthetic appeal of a car will almost certainly detract from the value or, at best, have no impact. Mechanical 'improvements' if invisible will be unlikely to harm the value but are also very unlikely to increase the value.
