2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black
Not a view I ever wanted to see...... Caption time!

Last week I pulled over with smoke coming from under the block, first thought - turbo Sad Actually both turbos and pipes were fine, turns out a head gasket had been weeping and oil had dripped Onto the manifold Sad

Oil level hadn't dropped so as only a small amount, unfortunately the work needed to fix it wasn't a small amount from my wallet!

So, yes I should have had a warranty, I did but it didn't cover any of the things that failed over the past two years so I took the punt that the major parts on an 85000 7 year old car would be ok and didn't renew it. Live and learn, anyone who has An RRS without a dealer or very good aftermarket warranty take note.... Car is dealer maintained and has fsh.

Shocked GULP! These cars frighten me. Think I'll have a look around for a decent Ford Escort.

Frightening ! Of course cars go wrong but when I am traveling in Europe I constantly have my fingers crossed. I have full breakdown and warranty cover as well.

Shocking to see that, really hope all is well now. Had a RR Vogue 2004 Petrol from 30k at 4 years old to 99k at 9 years and it did not miss a beat, no warranty, just normal service issues, trips into Europe no thoughts of any problems.
Why are these newer models so prone to problems Question

I don't know, 2008 car with 85k and it needed new head and sump gaskets, really don't think that should be something that goes but it has!

Will find out on Monday if all is sorted.

Anyone else had similar things? Is a TDV8.

No, he is in Guy Salmon. They have always maintained it for me and I think their customer service is excellent so I took it them on an truck and left it there.

Do you use west yourself? TDV8 Java Black, Overfinch 22s

Blimey, you have taken that well

That's the sort of thing that can put you off the car forever but having said that you now know that the car is in tip top shape so it's worth keeping

Best regards
