Hi Guys,

I have been offered a warrenty on a RRS I am looking at. Havent agreed length etc but before that, would you guys with your vast insite of what fails on these RRS and advise if the warrenty sound acceptable or a waste of time etc.

Care to share what the warranty covers? Bit difficult to say if the warranty is worthless without that information...

Having said that, it appears that the warranties thrown in by garages are generally fairly limited in what they will cover. How old is the RRS you're looking at? Does it have a full service history? What miles is it carrying? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Normal issues include:

Air suspension compressor £500 plus
ARB bushes £TBC
Electric Park Brake £200 - £400 depending on components that have failed.
Other suspension components - numerous switches - rear tailgate struts - creaking seats.

Only one that looks not brill is compressor they pay up to £250.
Are these a comon failure on 3 year old vehicles?

Mines been fine think the average failure is approx 60k miles & 5/6 years old - newer model have the better hitachi compressor fitted  16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

If it's a 3 year old you are looking at then I would think about buying one from a LR main dealer. All second cars now come with a full 2 year warranty.....just my 2p  Visitor from fullfatrr.com

I havent asked that yet but I would be asking 2 years!

I got a free three year unlimited mileage and unlimited claims warranty with my RRS. All that is required is that I have it serviced at the correct intervals. Each claim was for a max of £1000 however; but for a one off payment of £200 I could upgrade it to £10000 per claim, which I did of course. Let's face it, £1000 on one of these will be swallowed up pretty quickly.

I had the same warranty on my Audi and used it successfully when I had a gearbox issue.
