I was talking to a colleague yesterday who mentioned 5 Range Rovers were stolen in Peckham recently and without the keys.

Has anyone else on here been close to such an event?

I wonder if JLR should be offering free GAP insurance to cover their security vulnerability whilst they fix this issue?

What are your thoughts?

Its been discussed at length on here, from all directions.

Long and the short is that JLR won't provide anything, and they don't need to, its a weakness in all keyless entry cars from BMW to Audi to RR.

They have moved to secure vulnerabilities which is applaudable, they will even make this fix on some of the new L494's which they've sold at service time.

They also have insecure in the incontrol app's which will help, or you can do as I did and get a decent tracker system fitted.

Personally, I think that if someone is going to steal a car, they'll do whatever is required. I'd rather they do it from outside of my home than breaking in and violating my home.
