Heated Rear Screen only working on bottom

Hi All, Only had this 2009 RRS for 2 weeks and have multitude of faults with it, this post is to do with the rear screen, it was iced up this morning so used the heated rear screen button for the first time, and only the bottom 2 heater wires heated up, rest of screen frozen solid, if there is a break further up the screen is there a repair kit to fix. Cheers

I had this exact problem on mine, if you look closely the elements will be a different colour further up the screen, I suspect on mine someone had loaded something in the boot that rubbed against the elements damaging them.

If they are damaged there is no effective way to repair them, in the end my insurance company paid for a replacement on the basis it wasnt safe to drive, so I just paid the excess.

Before you go smashing the rear screen with a hammer you might want to check the battery condition as low charge results in the battery management system not permitting operation of the rear screen heater. Another frequent problems is a corroded connector in the wiring under the spoiler - use the search function to find a detailed description of DIY fix. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

No Intension of smashing the glass, the rear glass will be changed free of charge by insurance company as this could be a safety issue I think, its just when they take it out what will happen, Cheers
