United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black
1 year......15,000 miles later. Happy owner

After reading all sorts of horror stories prior to purchasing I bought a tdv8 from a general used car dealer with one of those worthless 3 month 500 max warranties, but i was a cash buyer and the main dealers only wanted to sell me finance.

I am 30 years old and my insurance is 278 fully comp. unbelievable
Road tax 500 as my father first smuggly pointed out
2 services and 1 door latch (im a fan of fresh oil and filters)
squeaky front Arb bushes for 2 days in hot weather but disappeared when roads became damp again
getting ready for some tyres but can get 4 new pirelli scorpion zeros (275/40/20) fitted for just under 600. well pleased
all in all just the usual used car expenses with less than expected prices

Even done a 450 mile trip for 70 diesel averaging 27mpg, and not driving like miss daisy

Happy to report back that it has been a lucky/pleasurable experience thus far. When i first purchased i took it for a service at my local indy who took great pleasure in telling me that i would become well acquainted with the garage and pointed out all the things that will go wrong, 5000 here 9000 there. I returned home and one neighbour was all "you know what people say about men who drive big cars", the other was "can you sell me some gear"

I find such a wave of negativity from everyone who isnt an owner. Maybe its green eyedness or maybe just regurgitating what theyve heard Sheep but for anyone thinking of buying, I would just go for it. Not only that, this forum Bow down provides a far superior customer support network than any main dealer.

All the best
Rob Thumbs Up

England 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Fuji White

I'll second your thoughts there pal Thumbs Up ! I have had my "baby" (2006 Sport HSE) for 2 years now and I am over the moon with it. Yes the tax at 500 hurts me to pay it especially with my local roads being like pothole city specials Shocked . I have had a couple of "issues" in that time (suspension compressor and air receiver, but both these were sorted by my warranty that I took out with the car when I purchased it ! hey hey ! Mr. Green ) So apart from consumables like tyres / discs & pads etc no major expense ! I have just decided to renew my warranty and keep it for another year, then see what is on the market regards something a little bit newer. In the meantime I look forward to another 12 months of pleasure driving said "baby" Cool

Just coming up to the end of my 4th year with my TDV8. There have been some annoyances and stuff that really shouldn't cause problems in a modern car. Then it goes and shows a little bit of what it's capable of and all is forgiven.

Today saw another 800 spent on yet another service and MOT. Clear through the MOT and the service only threw up a seized rear brake caliper on top of the usual fluids and filters. Having spent the day in a manual FL2 TD4, the drive home reminded me of the good times... Laughing 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Good to hear. Those tyres are a good price as well. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

United States 2013 Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE Lux Fuji White

My 2013 HSE (old body style) has been completely trouble-free in the past two years (about 15K miles).

Well, there is the occasional rear brake squeak on slow rolling stops that drives me mad, but dealer's checked it out and brakes are OK. They can't find the cause of the squeak.

If a squeak is all I have after two years...is this really a Land Rover? Shocked 2013 RRS HSE Lux, Fuji White w/Silver Pkg, 5.0 V8

Low speed brake squeal is not uncommon. Bloody annoying when off road and with the window open... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
