Anti roll bar bushes

Hi I have tried a search on this but haven't found what I am looking for so hoping somebody on here will be able to help. My ARB bushes are making an awful squeeking noise so I sprayed them with oil to check it was them and the noise went away for a day, anyway I know I will have to change them but can anyone tell me how easy/hard of a job it is as I am lead to believe on the supercharged you need a special tool to take the rear bolt out is this correct and if so is it a dealer job and how much? Thanks

Hi I had the front changed at Land Rover dealer for £80 including parts and labour. Rear anti roll bar bushes can be seen from the rear wheel arch so should be easy to replace. Thumbs Up

Hi thanks sorry I should have said it is on the front, do you know if it is a dealer only job or can I buy the poly bushes and either do it myself or pay the garage that I used to use for all the work on my previous car? If there is a tool that is required to remove the ARB bush housing then I doubt they will have it so won't waste mine and his time letting him do it you see. Thanks

Any good mechanic will be able to replace them. Also I'd replace your drop links at the same time. Easier to replace if you have proper ramp.

The ARB bushes are more difficult to replace if you have the dynamic ARB and this will put the price up a bit on the labour side but nothing silly. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Nothing Silly? How about £300 Plus parts Main Dealer Price. That is ACE type with 3 bolts. My friend ,a qualified Mechanic could not get onto the rear bolt. Seems the older cars without ACE are easier. I think they only have 2 bolts each side itisme

You have to lift the body slightly to do the bushes - hence it's not really a DIY job on the driveway like it is is for the D3 boys.

Getting a main dealer to do it is just asking for your wallet to be spanked... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

If you have a Supercharged or a TDV8 then you have dynamic ARBs. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Try an indie LR garage. The labour rate will be much lower and as most of the costs in the job is labour... Whistle 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

i have just called a local indie garage they told me that it may need some packers that Land Rover released and quoted me for front and rear inc parts and labour £185 inc vat is it wise to have front and rear done at the same time? Thanks for your help

I think the packers were done for the non-dynamic ARB on the D3. They should just be able to fit the new bushes alone.

As for doing both ends at the same time, for £185 all in, I'd say you may as well. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
