After 6 and half years with Freelander 2 I've decided to get a RRS2 so placed a order with following config, dealers around Manchester could not provide any solid dates so ended up placing the order with LPR, build slot in Mid Sep, with delivery towards end of Sep.

Ebony-Ivory Interior
Adaptive Headlights
Surround Camera
Blind Spot Monitoring with Closing Vehicle Sensing and ReverseTraffic Detection
Head Up Display
Power Adjustable, Heated, Power fold Dimming, Exterior Mirrors

Nearly a month since I placed the order, but time seems to go very slowly now.
Took one day subscription to TOPIX site for MY16, but documents are not as detailed as it was for the Freelander 2 (in 2009). Wanted to find info on Diesel Particulate Fluid (AdBlue) system as its new in MY16 but not much details.

Hi,

Just spec'd up a similar car. You need DIMMING mirrors to go with the traffic sign recognition. Make sure your dealer adds it as its only listed as a footnote in the e-brochure!!! (£185 extra)

Yes, I have it, just forgotten to add it to list above , Found another set of dependencies like that, to specific Head up display, also requires Solar Glass.

Yes, I got caught with that too. I wanted the HUD for the speed sign indication but with all the dependencies the £1000 HUD comes out at £2235!!!!

My spec is below under "Bitten the bullet"!

Received a email from the dealer to say that mine has been built and is with the quality control, original built date was set for tomorrow (11th Sep) so look's like factory slowly catching up. Delivery expected in around 10 days time, going to be looong 10 days.

Lead times are coming down quite quickly. I wonder if it's because initial demand has been satisfied or perhaps the China effect has lead to a fall in demand. Heavens, we may soon have the situation where dealers become salesmen rather than order takers, have to sharpen their act and maybe even negotiate on price. Mark

SVR in Estoril Blue

Mine was supposed to have been built this week, dealer promissed to keep me informed throughout the process, result Zilch! No reply to phone calls or e-mails, very poor purchase experience.

As most of the dealer network is not doing a good job at keeping the customers informed, LR should develop a online system to show the progress of the order, or maybe even a simple SMS system so that customers are not kept in the dark.

My nearest dealer has a monopoly, they are 125 miles from me, the next one is 175 miles and they are worse!
