I live in a situation where I have to drive and put up with lorries tailgating me (French lorry drivers). Touching the brake paddle keeps them a bay but I am wondering if I could somehow tap into the wiring of the brake light situated at the top of the rear window and set it off with the push of a button on the dash? Any thoughts Andrew Kennedy

The brake light circuits are extremely sensitive, so I would leave well alone.

We once had a VW Golf estate with a broken rear screen washer such that it squirted straight backwards; worked well for tailgaters! I refrained from filling it with brake fluid... Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Personally, worry about the road ahead and don't be distracted by tailgaters.
