Steering wheel centre colour

I've a new hse dynamic coming soon. I mulled for ages over this or going for autobiography but have everything - except one thing - I want for 5 grand less than I would be facing if I went AB.

The only thing I don't have is the centre of the steering wheel matching the colour of my seats, which will be cirrus.

I don't know where I could source a replacement insert from - any ideas? Or could the leather in the centre of the wheel be recoloured by a recommended 3rd party.

Thanks for any advice.

I'm guessing that it's the same as the Mark 1 RRS, namely the leather you are referring to is part of the Airbag unit and therefore a complete unit will need to be purchased in the chosen colour.

I have no idea if this is 100% but would seem logical... If this is the case an authorised dealer should be able to get a replacement airbag unit and do the swap. The price I suspect would be horrendous, but, still less than the GBP 5,000 to upgrade to an AB.

I'm sure somebody with more knowledge will be along shortly.

Cheers

If you buy a new air bag for the car in the new colour would this show up on the cars history file , not sure how the Land Rover dealer system works but when I have bought used cars in the past I give a main agent the chassis number and they can give me a list of parts supplied to that car .
This might cause problems at resale . Would you buy a car that's had an air bag replaced .

I'd only do the change if it was as simple as replacing the leather centr pad which it sounds like it's not. Am not messing about with moving parts or air bags.

I've heard the leather could be recoloured and this is quite a straightforward exercise for someone who know what they're doing. The garage is going to suggest someone to me. Has anyone any experience of this and how effective it is?

I do understand you predicament but I think if you do start messing about with it you will always see a fault with it . The 2016 worked well for us as we didn't like the luna and are over the moon with ebony/ebony . Is there any other colours combination you would change to so you can keep the car original .
We have used expert tradesmen in the past that talk a good job but in reality their standards are lower than mine .

I said I have everything I want for 5 grand less. I didn't say I had everything an AB has. Mood lighting, a cool box I'd only ever use for coins, in control apps and 3 tone instead of two tone seats are all things I wouldn't choose to have. This darned steering wheel is the one thing I can't get on my spec that I want.

The wheel colour was a big issue for me but went for the second hand option with a ab which cost a couple of grand more than new hse, lots of extra toys as standard against 5000 on clock seemed a good trade off.

When I ordered my 2014.5 with Dynamic Package you got Piemento and Tan as extra colors. Then you also got the centre piece color coded. Check if this is still the case. If you can live with another color...

Buy an AB.....if on finance the payment difference will be sweet FA and it will hold its value, not saying that others won't, but some people just want an AB, for example:
