its MINE!!!!

thought I'd start my own drum roll for the delivery of my RRS - hopefully sometime next week Confused

it was due in at the dealers yesterday, however it failed to materialise. Little dissappointed with the dealer to be honest as I had to call them to find out the status - clearly my car/business cant be much of a priority to them - they must have some more important work to do Confused Confused Rolling Eyes

Having said that I must say the gentleman who did call me back from the dealership (my contact is away for 2 days) was very professional and as helpful as he could be.

He told me that for some reason (apparently LandRover have given no explanation to my dealer to why) the car is delayed and the delivery date wont be confirmed now until Tuesday, however the car could also just turn up on Tuesday Confused - basically my car is somewhere in the UK, however there is no way to find out - good work LR Banging Head

My BMW goes one day next week and I have no idea when my RRS is arriving plus cant sort my finance or insurance as there is no VIN number or plate available yet.

So far so good - not!! Rolling Eyes Lets see what happens Monday

what I find very hard to believe is that the dealer cant find out where the car is - I ship a £10 item via couriers and can track it accurately - LR ship a £48k car and I have to wait until Tuesday to find out when it will be delivered - quite unbelievable really

I bet it's sitting in Gaydon or maybe just at the back of the dealership

Oh and my car was at the dealer's for two weeks till the guy came back from his holiday before the car was sent out!

You should be able to get the VIN number etc... I bought a Focus RS when they first came out - I was able to track its progress from Germany to France and then to the UK. Pretty poor from your dealership... RRS TDV8 HSE - Hybrid TV - Sunroof - Adaptive Front Headlights - Harman/Kardon LOGIC7 system

Bit crap this, Kaine. Sorry to hear of the delay - seems you've been waiting for ages! When I was waiting for mine to arrive it "disappeared" sometime between leaving the factory and arriving at the dealers and my sales bod couldn't locate it either. He did wryly mention that they often go off the radar for a couple of days... Shocked

Kaine, suggest you speak to VA to establish how he learnt about the end of production line re-work issues on his recent D3. Without wanting to sound too alarmist, an unexpected delay may mean your new build vehicle failed quality check and has had to be quarantined pending a re-work / fix. Not necessarily a big problem, but probably worth knowing what, if anything, needed reworking. I imagine there is a correlation between vehicles that needed end of line rework and vehicles that then suffer recurring niggles....

Looking on the bright side though - perhaps waiting will make the big event more pleasurable. Thats what my mum told my sisters about pre martital sex anyway (but they ignored her Laughing ). RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini

that makes sense - think you may well be right. I'd rather any niggles are fixed now, so perfectly fine with that if thats the case.

update

it seems they delay is some rework to all RRS' due for delivery at the moment - a good thing really

also, dealer has helped me out with the BMW by offering me almost (£200 shy) the same figures to take it off my hands instead - this will make the changeover much smoother so think I'll take it
