Theft alert

Had the stolen vehicle centre call today saying my car has triggered a theft alert, to which I told them its at the dealers having some warrenty work carried out, which they confirmed location. So no problem, got me thinking though, if they have the key, I wonder how they can trigger an alert ? Something I'll have to ask in the morning.

When you send it to ghe dealers you should select service mode in the app. It turns theft alerts off for 10 hours.

Did select that, but as they've had it a few days forgot to activate again Rolling Eyes 2015 HSE SDV6 Scotia Grey, ebony / lunar, colour coded, deployable steps, TV, sliding pano and a few other bits. Now gone

Just assumed it would activate if moved ( rather than just up/down ) without ignition on, battery disconnect sounds most likely Thumbs Up 2015 HSE SDV6 Scotia Grey, ebony / lunar, colour coded, deployable steps, TV, sliding pano and a few other bits. Now gone

I have just had a software upgrade, which apparently includes a fix which prevents a 'third key' from being created via the OBD port.

It was done automatically when it went in for its first service two weeks ago, they informed me afterwards, but was only when I queried what 'upgrades' had been installed did they elaborate on the safety aspect. 2014 RRS AB Santorini Black

Hi
I had the theft alert text on Tuesday PM, decided not to do anything as its at the dealers having a crank sensor and pickup ring replaced, no phone calls or anything, so does the system actually work?
