Just ordered my first ever RR. Would you change my spec?

Hi. I've a 2010 X5. I planned on buying a new one but having test driven it back to back on same day with an RRS I finally see why you RR owners pay a premium for your SUVs. The new X5 I am sorry to say is not in the same league in terms of its styling, finish or driving experience. I've owned BMWs for the past 15 years and they've been great but I am so excited at the impending change.

I've a few weeks to change my spec below which I ordered last week. I'd be hugely grateful for some RR experienced comments on what changes are worthwhile. Additions, removals, colour changes anything welcome. Thanks very, very much for any advice.

If you don't have time to look through it all, could you consider a) Deployable side steps worthwhile and reliable?, b) Anybody ordered one style (fixed or sliding) of panoramic roof and subsequently wished they had the other?, c) Assisted parking - none, parallel, or parallel and assisted?

I thought that the soft closing doors I had on a loner were really useful.

Hello.

If you can, I would change to Autobiography Dynamic. A few of those options like the sound system, panoramic roof and full leather are standard on the AB and residuals are stronger than the HSE Dynamic. A base spec AB will always be worth more than a well spec'd HSE Dynamic. You also get some better interior colour ways and Alston headlining which is a suede type material and much more luxurious than Morzine.

Sounds lovely.

Only word of caution - Barolo Black is a very 'soft' paint and scratches and swirls show very easily.

If you can, I would also delay until 2016MY (Sept/Oct Delivery) as they have made quite a few enhancements and the engines are more efficient, taxes are lower etc. Coming from BMW, you will be used to changes every 3-4 years but with LR they enhance the product with some fairly radical changes every 6 months to a year.

I would avoid HUD at all costs. The one in my L405 cannot be easily seen in daylight and disappears entirely in sunshine. LR say this is to be expected and is normal.
